Any dealers on here? Don’t think they grow in my area. Happy to pay postage and a small fee for your trouble

We've raised about $2,400 so far. 100% of donations goes to SOWF.

Pods For A Cause (milkweed)

I wasn't sure where to post this so I stuck it here. Seems like more and more guys are interested in using milkweed but they have trouble obtaining it. Some generous guys on this forum have been kind enough to ship and share what they pick. I will do the same but with a slightly different twist...

If u would have waited to post till tomorrow it would have been much more appropriate.

It doesn't grow around me either. My buddy raises rabbits and I use the hair as a substitute....
 
It grows intermittently around here. I have some that grows at the end of my road I picked a bunch of and have enough for about 10 years...

If you are desperate to get some there are sites that sell it. The hunting public sells it in their pouches and butterfly effect outdoors are 2 that come to mind or you can buy some on eBay. Apparently milkweed is the host plant for monarch butterflies. People sell the pods hoping people will plant the seeds for the butterflies to prosper.
 
Things you find in the woods. . . .

Turkey hunting this morning I happened upon a long narrow pile of hundreds (if not thousands) of discarded milkweed pods. The pile was about 18" wide X 20ft long and pretty close to 6" deep in spots. Based on the appearance it appears that there have been multiple years of deposit, some is significantly more decomposed than the uppermost most layer. This was in a small field back in a chunk of public hardwoods that would have been difficult to get a motor vehicle into. Looks like someone carried them in by the five gallon bucket and dumped them in a line. I always wonder at the possible explanation behind some of these strange (to me anyway) things I stumble across in the woods.
