What is the best way you have found to hang your bow on public land? I see a lot of guys are using the Hero clip. I'm little skeptical with the hero clip because it looks like your bow may be able to get knocked off fairly easy? Can anyone tell me

This is a possibility. I was thinking of getting one myself.

I run a tie down strap around the tree with a biners and a hero clip. Put the hero in my top cam for compound. Stable.

I wonder how sturdy the strap on bow hanger is? Does the hero clip hold your bow well Wyatt? Can it be knocked off easily?

Pick your favorite strap to go around the tree or use your tether. I use a piece of parachord with one loop. I feed the tag end through the loop and tie a pull knot to my bag. Then I use a S Biner on the parachord. Some people take off one gate of the S biner so that it is an open hook. Then just hook your cam through it.

Strap on is bologna, wont hold a rattle bag. Hero clip is as stable as what you mount it on.

Hero clip attached to a DIY HYS strap with bow hanging from the top cam. The hero clip does not have a very large lip so I can understand your concern about it possibly getting knocked off. I have not had that happen for the last year using the hero clip.

I use the HYS strap from Tethrd. Yeah that was my only concern with the hero clip is it having a small lip and bow getting bumped off but I think I’m going to give it a shot!

I plan to use that solution.

Heres a thread of a very cheap and sturdy option that im using

I started off with the HME bow hanger and strap and when I used a climber it was worth the hassle (i.e. heavy, loud, not easy to store, etc) to have something that I could adjust to be be within arms reach. I have tried the hero clip and love using them to hold my bag and some miscellaneous gear (binos when I don't have my bino harness or calls or rattles) but just don't care to hang my bow from one because if you leave the quiver on like I do you are raking your arrows against the tree if you are storing it on the grip arm side. I do use the HYS strap and love that thing for versatility hanger so I came across this and have weaved the HYS strap through the strap holes for the approximate tree size that I hunt. Love it so far. I have found my tree sizes are usually very consistent or enough that I can factor them out using hys strap quick tension adjustment it goes on fast, packs easier and holds my bow away from the tree so I can leave my quiver on. Just like to leave the quiver on for a go to follow up shot, second deer opportunity or the most likely reason that I missed completely on the first:grinning:

I have also seen some pictures on here where some guys are using a plastic fold down tree step looking thing that has a quick connect groove built in, that might be even more packable and lighter. I think I am going to stick with this for a while and try to stop spending so much $$$ on the highest quality meat that man has ever known :)

I can take pictures of my setup if anyone is really that interested.
