Who is Allowed to Hunt Deer on Sundays?

Not being able to hunt on a Sunday seems criminal!
MN & WI Hunter here.
I must live in a cave, never knew there were such restrictions!

Blue laws.....also in WV you can't buy beer on Sunday until after like noon or something in order to keep people from stumbling into church drunk.....

NY used to be like that. At the Nascar race in Watkins in Sundays as soon as the clock struck noon so much beer entered the hospitality tents

Maine has always been a no on Sunday hunting. Stupid law. Like the deer care if they die on a Sunday or a Tuesday. Some people here argue that Sunday is the only day of the week that they can feel safe in the woods during the firearm season but they don’t have an answer when I ask them about the other 11 months that they can be out there and I can’t. They also think hunting is so dangerous but it is actually safer than most other outdoor activities.

One argument is that people don't want to hear gun shots during church. There is a rifle range (state DNR ran) near a church here and it is closed until 1 pm on Sundays.

That's understandable. The shooting club I used to belong to didn't open until noon on Sundays because of the neighbors not wanting the noise on Sunday mornings. No big deal.

I can, but I have a special permit. See below.

Would love to change this but would not know where to start other than writing or emailing state officials? Any ideas we can collaborate on?
Attend the public hearings, they post them on the website and email them out too, NC's are pretty well done at least the ones I've been to, they hand out voting remote to everyone that comes to get everyone's opinion on each question. Fill out your hunters surveys. WRC asked a bunch of questions about hunting on sundays in the public hearing last spring i think its was so sounds like they are stewing over the ins and outs of it, impacts on various user groups, larger number of game is likely to happen other rules might be effected, etc.

I’m in rural Missouri which is a pro hunting state across the board...you boys need to cast your voice anytime it can be heard! What’s the reasoning behind no Sunday hunting??? Didn’t the lord say something about full quiver and the woods ???

Been like that forever hear in Maine. It's bs. We have been trying to get it changed for years now but there is too many tree huggers in my state and it gets shot down every time. Just recently they tried to pass a law that would allow hunting for small game only on Sundays in unorganized townships (areas of the state that there is no people living for miles). That even got shot down.

That is so silly. I dont stop people from going to church, but you can't hunt? Makes no sense at all.
