Why am I being blocked from all posts related to Tethrd

Your rules Red. It think it is hilarious that the only people that can comment and answer questions about a new product that has not even been released is folks that have never used one. That's an excellent strategy.
Blame your forebears who used red's platform to communicate unmerited accusations that competing products were some combination of poorly designed, untested, and/or unsafe. The current solution may well be a baby+bathwater one, but the problem was a real one too. Hopefully the referenced phase 2 can bring a better balance.

Conversely, maybe he should let every biased individual be able to post all over everyone elses product? I can't understand how you are upset over this, these rules have been in effect for awhile now. IMO of course.

I think if there is concern for a biased review how about adding the signature next to their name or where it says well known member or something. There has got to be a better way.

Bias review is not the real concern. We ask that vendors and prostaff identify themselves in their signature so that one can estimate if there may be some bias in their words. The real concern is vendors running amock in an attempt to use this site as an advertising channel.

I am confident that good conversations can be had, that share good information, without infringing on the site rules.
As a paid member I'm of the opinion the site rules are heavy handed and burdensome in regards to vendor interaction. I have no connection to any vendor so hopefully I'm allowed to voice that opinion without retaliation.

I agree with DaveT on this one. This seems ridiculous. There has to be another way to handle this. When members have questions on a product such as comfort or use, who better to answer than the people who have the most experience with it.

For example: the new trophyline ambush saddle. There is very little information out there on the product, comfort tips, usage etc from pro staff.

Pro staff and employees of saddle companies are already supposed to have signature lines stating such.

As a TL pro staffer .... I am happy to have a conversation via PM or over the phone, but out of respect of the rules, I do not answer customer questions on this forum. I have sent numerous PMs to members trying to help them out. The first line would be to use the companies website for customer service. TL has a phone number that is very often answered by the man himself. Admittedly it is hard to not answer concern or questions here, and I have even typed a response, re-read and said to myself that is customer service, let me copy and paste this into a PM. Every company has channel in place for customer service and none say go to saddlehunter.com and post a question. Other customers can provide feedback but staffers can not.

I appreciate that.

For the record, @Jefferson10940 is a moderator, but since he is a TL pro staffer, his has to play by the rules like everyone else and does not have access to post to the Vendor section as well.

@DaveT1963 it is a fairly recent rule.
Though I’m pretty sure the only difference between you and another member promoting a saddle is they asked if you wanted to be pro staff and you said yes. They are working on a vendor section possibly.

As a moderator who can see both side of the coin here.... I feel it is worth mentioning that the vendor rules are in discussion between the mods and @redsquirrel.

I for one don't want to see the site turn into a customer service channel. Which was taking place and led to many of the current rules. At the same time I see value in vendor interaction.

We are trying not to rush to changes without talking through the big picture of what rule changes can mean and what the unexpected consequences could be. Be patient. In the mean time, we are open to feedback if you have examples of a forum model that has vendor/member interaction. Or ideas on how to improve the rules.

I don't mind complaining....but you get a lot farther if your complaint is accompanied by suggestions for improvements!

yeah, I can no longer post an opinion on helium sticks, bows, Nucanoe, etc.... because I joined one saddle company. Its all good, plenty of options these days.

Ok can you slow down for a second, read what @skell just posted. We are working on figuring this out. This is all we talk about all day. Looking for good models of other forums, trying to brainstorm our own ideas. But trying to get it right takes time. Please be patient

Dave, I'm the same exact way. Can't weigh in on a guy's new bow purchase. Can't weigh in on Havalon knives. Can't talk about headlamps, binoculars...none of it.

Red and the mods saying they're working on it is good enough for me. I'd be lying if I said I liked it. But I understand it. Prostaffers get annoying quick if you let them. You're on facebook, so I know you know what I'm talking about..

"COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT THE PEE-MISTER XL500 SCENT DISTRIBUTOR AND REALPEE'S NEW FOR 2020 EAU DE ESTROUS DOE SCENT. USE CODE #TOTALLYAHUNTERJUSTLIKEUGUYS FOR A 3% DISCOUNT."

That's what red's trying to avoid. It was starting to get that way for a bit.

I agree that is an undesirable effect.
Tag their names with their affiliation so we know they're pro staff and may have a biased opinion. Benefits them as pro staff and the non-pro staff as well.

And yet, you probably wouldn't want a say Aerohuntr(or any other saddle company for that matter) prostaffer coming into a tethrd phantom conversation and saying why their "x" saddle is better....Its understandable for products in the same genre or competitive field and should be applicable to all products the company has expressed they are developing or already sells.

It ain't you dave, I'd say the mess with bos/ new tribe and tethrd paved the way for this. I figured it was coming. Idk what tell ya be a hard lose to see ya leave so hang around and let these boys figure it out. Folks can gain from folks like you and nutterbuster, yes while yall are tied in to separate companies you can compare in civil friend manner and let folks decide on their own. Your grown men so hopefully you'll get straight on vendor stuff.

Personally I had mantis I'd started fire with it and i got a trophyline and would bout start brush fire with it too haha pump ya brakes a bit man and let them try sort it out for ya. I know I bring no value of info here the site because I just prefer to weigh in without much seriousness
