Why don't yall 2TC?

So I tried it and it was alright but just not for me. I generally hunt the same tree in one day so if I plan to go back to it I leave everything there rappel down and srt back up. 2tc is undoubtedly one of the lightest and most compact methods out there but we all need to thing back to our roots here. 90% came from climbers and lock ons so is carrying a stick that’s a touch under 3 pounds with a platform attached to it really so bad that we need to down grade to just a rope? The sport is becoming so so so over analyzed it’s not even funny. Everyone needs to do what works best for them and not what the internet said is best lol. But long story short here the reason why I don’t 2tc is because by the time I pack a separate tether and a platform or ros it’s really not much lighter than my 1stick and I can’t stand on a ros all day
Not trying to be argumentative just giving an alternative to your reason as to why not 2TC....
Don't you or most people who one stick have a second tether AKA lineman's belt.... for going around branches?
Then whether you have a platform or 1-stick with a platform it makes no difference in amount of items or weight. A ROS is either to replace a platform or to augment it.
What I mean is a 2TC setup with a rappel rope for yr main tether gives you everything you need to also SRT or MRS(with a longer rope).
To clarify I use 2 tethers and install a platform at hunting height, I'll add a ROS next season after I make them.

I fully understand the ideology behind it. it’s just not for me was all I was saying lol I have my tether and my rappel rope I hunt 99% private so I carry a hand saw for going around branches lol but at the same time I primarily hunt mature hardwoods between bedding so there’s never much for limbs to begin with. For some 2tc is what fits but for others it’s not. I found it to much fiddle factor and with hunting season being gone and over as quick as it comes and my schedule being tight I don’t have time to be taught new tricks lol I can get up 25’ in 5 minutes and stand on that stick for 12 hours with zero complaint. For me it’s as perfect as it’s gotta get

Absolutely! If it works well for you, then keep at it! Lol I need to do more preseason sawing... we can saw anything less than 3" thick on public land in town!

Custom Gear modifications has a whole 2tc kit you can buy.https://www.customgearmodifications.com/shop

I wonder if they may just sell the foot strap? I would probably use my tether/repel rope as my main tether so I only really need the bottom tether/foot strap, correct?

They call it a thigh loop... but they dont know what they are talking about ;)

They have custom in their name, so I'm sure they would. The thigh loop should work just fine for a foot loop. I use piece of ratchet strap webbing I tied into a loop for my foot loop

I know the guys and they would! Can also put together a footbstrap that "locks" to your foot.

Woah... the winky face on my last post meant I was being cheeky. IT IS a thigh loop and works well that way for a bunch of folks, I just turned it into a footloop since it was wide and stable. Their version of a footloop is a thin piece of amsteel or rope that for me is way to uncomfortable to climb up on. Btw I added a bungee cord to help keep it on my boot.

I do absolutely zero pre season work lol in fact this year I spotted a nice funnel loaded with buck sign on my walk out one night in the rain and 2 days later decided to hunt it. 5am almost 30 feet in an ash tree sawing away to cut a nice pocket through the branches hitting me in the back. Long story short I made a hell of a racket and at 540 the absolute biggest buck I have ever seen was directly under me. The only reason I even saw him was due to the full moon that day. But man was that a test of strength to not shoot 10 minutes before legal light lol

Heres my foot strap or foot tethrd. Can be adjusted for length as needed.

Like a charm.... no joke... way better than rough or scaly bark! Many birch up here are smooth and dusty but I get up no problem!

Interesting. I would think it would be worse - slide down the tree because a lack of bark to keep things in place?

not even in a freezing rain .have i slid down smoothbark when i thought fore sure this is dangerously stupid.im not telling other people they are safe.but iv been surpisingly impressed with frozen trees.my friends who are arborist and linemen still go to work in freezing rain just sayin .my dude F L probably has some info on it.dude does good reserch

i dont understan when people who 1 stick say there is to much to fiddle with 2tc.side by side comparison you fiddle with2 teathers ........or 1 sticking you fiddle with 4 different climbing systems.a soft ladder fiddly a stick fiddly teather fiddly and srt.just grade school math.i dont see 1 system being more confusing than 4 systems and a rock climbing move in a tree to make it work.thats just comparing videos side by side.scott adkins makes 2tc look effortlessly simple. so does north forty.not even the smoothes 1 sticking video compares with all the funny thing you gotta do right.im always wrong so show me a 1 sticking video that is as smooth as north forty.there has to be one .every one is doing it

Ordered this today. Going to give 2tc another try. This should solve my issue.

I'm interested to see how that works out for you. My biggest problem with my foot loop and my knaider and swaider has been them slipping off my foot
