Why don't yall 2TC?

Sitting in my saddle suspended from my tether attatching platform and my foot is still in foot loop for stability and comfort...

Once your platform is secure stepping from foot tether to bottom step of aider is a piece of cake.

Two panel saddles are great!

Aider makes a nice platform sling for the 2TC back down.

How are you liking the lacrosse Windrose? I’ve had mine for 3 years now. They originally had inserts that were a size smaller than the boot so I had a crease on my heel and hated them. I contacted lacrosse and they sent me the right size inserts and they’ve felt good ever since. They seem like an ok boot all around. Very comfortable to me, but I wish they had a stiffer ankle support and a little better sole grip but all around they’ve been ok.

As far as setting a platform I haven’t loved doing that with 2TC. It’s probably the only thing that is still cumbersome to me with 2TC

Ooh, good point! No one has really made a video demonstrating that! I've never really had a problem with it because I put my large platform in my lap then hook it to the tree. I do use a boat cam lock for my platform so its quite simple. Will try to make a video abt that but I know you can figure things out too so show us what you come up with as well!

Just before I get to the height I want to be, I'll move the tethers slightly to the left or right from where I want the platform to be. Set the platform below where the lowest tether attaches to the tree and make one more move up to step onto the platform.

Kinda funny, they aren’t even what I had in mind. I was looking to get something like a high top hiking shoe. Something non-insulated and soft soles and quiet.
They were on sale for 80 bucks and I couldn’t pass them up!
I really, really like them so far!

Come on guys!
Haven't any of yins caught what my photographer (daughter) snuck in there? ^^^

I have no idea where she gets it from... :innocent:
Dude, I totally missed it! Cheeky work...I hope my daughter will get creative in such ways!

First hunt of the season almost ended in disaster.

It’s cold so I was wearing bulkier clothes and it was raining so everything including the tree trunk was soaking wet and slick as…

Climbing my usual way of 1 foot and wrapping the other leg, I slipped several times because my foot couldn’t grip the trunk. On the first evolution, my foot completely slipped off the tree and I fell backwards but thankfully was still on the ground.

Thankfully, I brought my double foot loop so climbing down was uneventful but that was eye opening, not climbing in ideal condx.

I am not a fan of climbing any wet trees to be honest however I have yet to 2TC on a wet tree. I had a foot slip off a tree last year on a multi step aider and was happy my foot stayed in the aider so all that really happened was my foot swung out in my lineman‘s kept me from going backwards of course

I’ll typically hunt from the ground if trees are wet for that reason. Thank you for sharing your experience as it’s just another reminder for safety

This was a good learning experience.

In the future, rain or soaked will mean SRT only and reserve 2TC for dry wx. On the plus side, I found far more 2TC than SRT trees in my area so I feel more confident with not scouting and setting presets this year.

Using a one step aider I do not like putting my toe into the tree. I put my foot side ways like I was climbing on tree steps. I am muck more stable. Have you tried that,?

Yep and slipped ever quicker. The wet trunk all but prevented a single leg climb.

Same. All the birch, popped, and aspen are more suited to 2tc, especially the larger ones you'd want to be in!

Good point! I have my double footloop at the ready for JRB climbs but you make a great point at using it for wet trees!

I'm likely to stay on the ground if it is raining for multiples reasons. One of which is the probability of slipping on a wet tee trunk.
