Wild edge stepps bag options

I have had them bend. It's been 100% my own fault though. Too much tension and not set right. They told me to just bend it back and I've had no issues.

They don't do well on soft trees. I'll say that. With some of the newer lighter sticks with easy attachments make me think I'll upgrade in the future. I probably wouldn't buy them now with those options but I've got them and they work well.

I like them with amsteel as it bites so hard. I pass a loop through vs the end and it bites even harder. Plus easier to remove.

Are they the best? Probably not. But I don't get the obsession with how to climb a tree so long as it's safe.

@redsquirrel i gave the bag you suggested a try this weekend. How are you placing the steps in the pack. I put them upside down with the standoffs facing out. There’s enough room for everything for an early season hunt. I wouldn’t want to carry everything around for half a day scouting for the absolute best place to hunt that evening but for about half our season it would work fine. Add a chest binocular rig and it would get me through until I had to bring layers which is only about three hunts a year I

I put the stepps in upside down with the point on the inside panel against my body facing up (that sounds the same as you?)

I carry the whole thing around in the shelf of my MR popup and take it out when I get to the tree. I wouldn't want to carry it, or the original bag, around just on the shoulder strap itself. I've been thinking about maybe making a custom bag that I can just hook directly on to the shelf to slim down a little but I'm not sure how much I'd gain since the fabric of the pack itself isn't much and I use it to keep my keys and my few other items.
