Wisconsin SaddleHunter Meetup - Rescheduled for August 22nd

How come my name is not on the list
@kidneystones_3000 I can’t answer that other than by suggesting for you to fill out the registration form again. I haven’t had any reports from others that their submission didn’t go through. Signup is still open, I am not removing people and I am the only form admin so I’m guessing your first submission attempt was not successful.

Quick update on the meetup. The host location (Daniel Boone Conservation League) opened back up on Thursday for member only shooting and associated social distancing requirements. That is a positive sign in the right direction but I still have have concerns whether I will be allowed to have this larger gathering there on the June 6 date. For those that haven’t signed up yet, please do that now so I have the ability for direct communication. Final planning is going to have to kick into high gear on short notice when I get the green light.

What is everyone’s thoughts that signed up:
1. Play it by ear for a few more weeks and try to keep this date
2. Delay the meetup to later in the summer
3. Hold a virtual meetup on June 6 using Zoom to do intros and a little show and tell and follow up with an in person meetup later in the summer

I do have an alternate public land location in mind if Daniel Boone pulls the plug but I need to check it out for non sap bearing trees near the parking lot. Having it at this location will change a few things up.

I would prefer option 2 or 3. I'll be moving now that weekend which I'm dreading.

I think we should hold off from any type of meet up. Even with social distancing I wouldn’t want a bunch of people touching my gear with all this COVID stuff going on. Between those of us that may be considered high risk or have high risk family members back home I don’t think it would be wise to do a meet up. Far as I can tell nothing has changed in the last 4 months other than we know a little more about the virus.

I'd be ok with it going on as planned, but I totally recognize that a lot of people will be apprehensive. I'm not going anywhere this summer, so whatever the group decides, I'm likely to attend.

I respect the concerns of the concerned.
I would go if I'm not offered work on that day.
Corona now make up the Trifecta of divisive, sensitive subjects to be avoided as possible.
Politics, religion and Corona.

Everyone should do what they think is best.

Due to individuals who may still be concerned with COVID, #1 doesn't seem to be a "healthy" option.
We already have video of saddle options, climbing methods, etc., so I don't see much value in a virtual meetup. Seems like a waste of your precious time and effort @ofor.

My vote is #2. Let's move on and get this rescheduled out far enough so we can all plan accordingly. Makes most sense. That's my $.02 cents, lol.

I don't see much value in virtual meet-up either. Plenty of videos of every saddle/platform out there. I would move it to July or August - that should give people some time to adjust to new reality.

All, I have waited as long as I could before making a final decision on whether to postpone the meetup. The large majority of people that responded to my last post were in the camp to postpone until later in the summer. I respect everyone’s opinion on both side of the argument.

With that said, I am pulling the plug on the June 6 date and delaying the meetup to later in the summer. I’ll start working on an alternate date and will communicate details as soon as I have them.

Hey gang, I am looking at Aug 22 as a possible reschedule date for the WI meetup. I am currently looking at an alternate location in Waukesha county that is putting on a bow hunters warmup 3D shoot that weekend so we can do some saddle meetup activities for a few hours and then shoot the 3D course. I’d like to get a fresh headcount of who can make the Aug 22 date so please respond with a “I’m in” or “I’m out”.

I think the SW PA demo day is August 22nd too. I've already committed to that one, so for that reason, I'm out.

Unfortunately I'm a maybe. I'm trying to get off of work but can't put in for another week. Hopefully I can make it as i'd love to be there. If you can wait a week, I can let you know yes or no.

I’m going to pass on the meet up. I’m still in the same boat I was originally in and don’t want to run the risk of catching or passing along COVID, specially with hunting season right around the corner. Wish you all the best of luck on the meet up and hope everyone remains safe both on the ground and in the tree.
