Working my way towards a successful hunt this season.

Plenty of info on youtube with The Hunting Public & the Hunting Beast, also get into learning to read topo's they are money in hill country. Don't be afaid to just go sit in the woods anytime(out of season) see if you can get deer close and practice the motion of drawing on them, if your going to make a mistake do it when it don't count. Now don't go sitting in the best spot you got, maybe try a place you have a good feeling about, also a good way to practice setting up quietly. Pay attention to your entry and exit routes as they are very important if your setting up near bedding.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do, read the sign, play the wind, and understand the terrain, But most of all I'm trying my best to understand why the deer do what they do and how us hunters make them change the way they act. Trust me when I say that I'm not giving up on the hunt. I'm not making the same mistakes I once was. I know I'll make plenty more along the way. I'll figure out my game plan and do my best to make something happen this season.

I spent some time working between Orangeburg & Florence. Not sure what public lands are in the area but did notice the region held a decent deer herd. I would strongly recommend going back to the second post on this thread & reading WHW’s style of hunting. If you put in the time to find the best fresh sign as detail by Mr. Warren, I can guarantee you’ll get shoot opportunities.
