Worst invasive species in North America

Giant Hogweed

I've been reading the answers posted about invasive species and thought Giant Hogweed is worthing brining to everyone's attention. Especially for those who may be doing some pre-season scouting later in the summer months.

Giant hogweed is a flowering plant in the carrot family that can grow up to 14 feet tall. This is not somthing people see everyday so it is natural to allow curiosity get the best of you while getting to close.

Brushing against or breaking the plant produces very poisonous sap that combined with sunlight and moisture can cause severe burns and permanent scarring within 24 to 48 hours of contact.

Once you become infected with hogweed toxins the worst case of poison oak you have ever had would be a relief compared to what you can experience from hogweed.
