Worst thing you’ve forgot to take into the field?

I’ve left my release at home once. I left my shotgun in the woods once. The worse thing to leave would be toilet paper but I don’t think I ever forget that lol.

A travel pack of baby or hand wipes fits easy in the pack. Not as biodegradable as TP unfortunately.

Just remembered... one cold, snowy night during rifle season a few years back I got back to the truck only to discover I had left my keys on the driver's seat. Luckily I had a spare hidden in the bed... buried under several hundred pounds of miscellaneous crap. That was a long night. Now that I've replaced that truck I've got a spare door key in my wallet and need to get a spare key to hide somewhere in the bed.

Not exactly afield so I don't know if it fits... had a buddy tell me when I started hunting public to tuck my keys up behind one of the car tires before waking into the woods. He said it ensures you won't accidentally lose them in the forest. I thought it was a great idea so I did it. When I came back to the car after the hunt I spent about 15 minutes trying to find my keys!

My buddy does this. I don't trust people enough! Lol

Got to the tree and didn’t put on my saddle … climbed my old ladder stand for that evening. I had my Sticks and Platform …. No saddle

I've dropped the boat in without a plug...more than once....

Went to fish a crappie tournament once. Put the boat in the water and no matter how much cranking, the motor wouldn’t turn over. I left with my tail between my legs.

When I got home, I remembered I hooked my safety key to my vest and never plugged it in. Once the safety was inserted, the motor fired right up.

I didn't realize it once till my fuel tank was floating...ooopd

So its not technically forgot in the field, but to do before you got in the field. Was watching a few does come near me during the rut, but really hoping for a buck. Well forgot to turn my phone to silent mode at the parking lot and someone called me. Needless to say I saw nothing for the rest of the day....had to give up and move to different tree.
My phone is always on silent mode 24/7/365 for this very reason. Been that way for at least the last 10 years.

Same here. Boots, release, quiver. I typically run through a chronological order of setting up before I leave the house.
Release, yesterday. started contemplating how much finger damage I would sustain/how straight I could shoot using finger pull, before giving the morning up to the whitetail gods and coming back for an afternoon hunt...with my release this time.

Not what I forgot to bring, but what I forgot to remove. Was running my boat at home with the earmuffs, asked my wife to turn the hose off and disconnect it. We take it to the lake, drive around for a while, and the whole time I was wondering why it felt weird and like it was pulling to one side. Raised the prop up but couldn't figure it out. Once we trailered it I figured out why...she removed the hose, but not the muffs! Luckily the engine didn't overheat from the intakes being blocked.

I install my plug at home before leaving so I don't forget to put it in at the launch.

Walked about 20 yards from the truck opening day this week before realizing I didn't have on my saddle. Hunt local, so it was a quick trip home and still in a tree before shooting hours.

The other day I drove an hour and 45 minutes to an area I've never hunted. Proceeded to hop out of the truck, hit the lock button on the door (old Chevy S10, no key fob) and slam it shut. Grab all my gear from the bed. Hmmm... feels like I'm missing something. Give myself the quick pat down... Uh-oh. Phone and keys are sitting on the center console of my locked vehicle.
