I am new to saddle hunting hunting and I am trying figure out what climbing method would be best. I have a set of 3 hawk helium’s also.

I have a set of 8. Im.still practicing with them. But they see solid. I did cut off the strap and buckles to replace them with some 1/2" hollow braided polypropylene rope. Once I stretched the slice and ropes, they hold well to the tree.

So, you are making WEI Stepps.

I have both. There is very little difference in them. The WEI Perch has to be preloaded on the Primals but can be inserted whenever on the Stepp.

I find I prefer the rope and cinch instead of the web and buckle. Primarily because I don't want to make a bunch of metallic noises while I am in the deer woods. Even though I do use a ratchet on my ROS.

I will say, I do use the Primals with hang on stands to give better purchase around a tree.
