Xop 2025 offerings

The material is very noisy. That’s what I am struggling with on the Fly. Very noisy. It’s loud and resonates a while just from the lugs on my boots
I’ve noticed that too. I wonder if some stealth strips or paracord would help

Gave the sticks a good shake today. Not terrible. Button should be about 1/2”-1” higher. There is a good amount of flex standing on the top step. They are very loud though and the sound resonates for an astonishing long time. Not a huge fan of the aider.

What do you not like about the aider…that I just BOUGHT

Do the teeth actually bite into the tree?
I use 3 step aiders on my sticks..on certain trees that aren't straight, that wouldn't be possible without them biting so well.

Do you not like multi step aiders, or is it that you just don't care for XOPs?

I appreciate your thoughts on these sticks, there's not much out there on them.
I would just buy them, but I only need 3. I have a hard time paying XOP $500 for 4 sticks. I'm banking on them offering different buying options before the season.

Oh… it’s great…lol

I am use to the CGM and backwoods mobile aiders. This aider doesn’t really hold its shape for the steps and it holds the folds and won’t really straighten out which was annoying me.

They grip smooth bark trees very well. They struggled a bit setting them on thick bark trees. I didn’t want to bend a stand off so I didn’t mess to much with them on nasty stuff.

They aren’t worth the price imo.

I also don’t think this “I7 alloy” is aluminum. The sound is higher pitch and resonates for much longer than any aluminum I have messed with.

Yeah I think it’s just aluminum too. Well maybe a little heat and it being hung out will straighten them out. At least that’s what I’m hoping…

Well I jumped the gun a little when I ordered the Fly the other day… I think the Super Fly will be better suited for saddle hunting out of with the angles it has on the sides. I’ll be sending the Fly back and have the Super Fly on order and it should be here Monday.

Yea I don’t know. It’s super springy and super loud.

One thing of note for you guys looking to use this stand as a hybrid setup. I know the website says 18” seat height but it is not. From the top of the platform to top of seat frame is 19-1/4” when folded flat into a seated position to the top of the cushion it’s 20”

I noticed that yesterday! I didn’t measure, I just thought I had short legs. Super comfortable as a stand though. Perfect seat height for me. But when I tried to put my knees on it, it was a little tall

I guess that rules out hacking the end off a fly to convert it into a lighter, poor man's .5. The height is cutting it close on the .5 for my knees.
I had a gut feeling I would have transitioned back to the .5 in short order anyway.

It’s lighter than the .5

I would definitely like to hear your thoughts on the super fly. I'm hybrid curious, and that super fly is awful tempting.

It’s not noisy
I was fumbling with as phone
Concrete
Ava having only played one time with it

This is my thought process: i think the extra space you get with the Fly is worth the .5 pounds.

Additionally the Fly is a very good size to function as a ‘pack frame’ so you can carry a superlight weight ‘bag’ backpack rather than a heavier one with an internal frame. Ultimately this can save you 2-3 pounds. With this thought process your saving weight with the fly over the super fly.

Last year I used the Retrograde from XOP and loved it but I strapped it to my pack rather than using shoulder straps because it isn’t really long enough for my torso.

All this said, I’m gonna give the Fly a shot and try ditching my Kuiu venture pack. The Super Fly looks slick but the extra space is nice to have up in the tree when it only costs ya .5 pounds - my primary reason for switching.

As for your question on hybrid hunting - totally worth it. Very advantageous from a hunting perspective and with the lightweight stand options out there is hardly a weight difference from pure SH. Comfort is much higher as well so you don’t move as much. I don’t think I will go back.
My 2 cents!

This was my thought process when deciding between the two as well. You gain much more space for only 0.5lb. Sure it doesn’t have the wings on the back side, but does it make a huge difference?
