XOP Edge

I’m puzzled why the design wouldn’t closely follow the ambush, just smaller. It’s still Cody right?

Because there’s going to be a smaller ambush offered from lwcg soon that’s why they went with something Different for XOP is my guess... same idea just budget minded

I don't know why some of you are complaining. Truth be told, I would take this over a Predator....but I'd still take my Mission over either of them.

Could be good for a pre-set anyway:)

I want a platform that has quality's of all 3. My ideal platform would Fold flat like a Predator . I also like that wing. Good leverage for when your moving around. The I beam isn't bad either. Strong. Plus no hollow tubes. The size of a Mission is ideal. Plus I like that their platform is thicker. Less flex. Also I like their traction. Firm footing is good. I hate that it doesn't fold flat. The Ambush is close. I like their leveling system. Pretty clever IMO. Plus it's strong. It folds flat. However, it's rounded w, poor traction IMO plus it seems to flex too much. Also if I am going to pay that much then I shouldn't slice my hand on a finished product. Basically I want a Predator XXL w/ a slightly thicker platform that doesn't flex.

With all these cheap sticks and platforms, I gots a nickel that says next season we'll have members buying and setting up multiple "presets."

whoosh
I'm actually a little guilty of this. Checked a trail cam by an apple tree and had tonnnnnsss of pictures so I prehung my sticks that night. Well the wind was unseasonably wrong for the next few days and I started using my other sticks instead and yep those sticks were a preset tree stand all last year.....

I personally don’t think it looks bad, but I’m a ring of steps guy. As for the tabs, they look like they hang lower than the top edge that most of your weight would be on. I think they may be ok, but I could be wrong.

Fair enough. Besides, they can always be cut off.

I'm no XOP fan but that thing looks sweet! Good traction, big enough to stand up on.
Looks to be made stout. As long as the weight is true it will compete with other stands in the same size category. I wonder if those side tabs will hold a couple step aider for the platform climbers. Glad to see some other companys getting in on the mini platform craze. Definitely a market for it with all the saddle hunters now.

I like the side tabs. It offers a place to secure the loose end(s) of your cam buckle. And the cut out on the back of the I beam allows you to get the cam buckle and any sticks really tight and secure. No flopping around during transport.

Wonder how this

  • Slot lock technology for climbing stick transport Reliefs in platform fit XOP climbing sticks
would fit with the novix minis

I've been weighing cost vs quality vs size. Of course quality can be subjective. If the Predator was at 13", I would lean harder that way...primarily because its Made in USA. Really do try and support US Companies, but sometimes it's hard. FYIthe price on the Edge shown here is from a different website, not XOP ($149).

XOPEdgePlatform (13.75 X 11)$139.99
TrophylineEDPPlatform (13.5 X 13)$169.99
TetherdPredatorPlatform (11.75 X 11.75)$169.99
Out On A LimbRidge RunnerPlatform (16 X 8)$159.99
CruzRSeekerPlatform (14.5 X11.25)$189.99
TetherdPredator XLPlatform (15.25 X 13)$199.99

I need this. Thanks.

Nice spread sheet...... weight column would have completed it...along with the TL Mission and LWCG Ambush added
True enough. However, weight is not really a big issue for me, since I am moving from a Cadillac Treestand (30+lbs) to a saddle...it's all good. As for the Mission...I'm looking at the EDP. The Kuhnerts Ambush...$$$. I had set a $400 Budget to try Saddle Hunting...that's already busted even with the sales, discounts and classified adds purchases. The lowest I can come in is $500. That's without any kind of mods and without hanging out in the classifieds for a few weeks or months just waiting. Just Basics Saddle, Sticks, Platform, Tether & Linemans Rope.

I decided to order the EDP it looks promising. Figured why not I tried everything else.

How do we know the predators are made in the US when we know most everything else Tethrd makes is made in China?

Just because they said so doesn’t really convince me these days.

I don’t use a platform anymore, but it looks more attractive than a predator.
