Has anyone used the XOP Shadow or Striker pack for hunting? I’ll be carrying my sticks (4-6 Muddy pros) and platform (ridge runner) in it. The packs seem well made and good with gear, alone with a generous price (Badlands pack just seems to be to much). But wondered if anyone has used one or the other while hunting.

They took over the game plan gear line. I have the old full rut what is the same as the strykwr. It's a greatbpack, heavy though.

The pack itself is heavy? Does it distribute well or is that what you’re noticing on your back?

the pack itself, dry weight is heavy. It carries weight well. IT also doesnt have a hipbelt which drives me nuts sometimes. IF you have a tall torso like me you may find the fram too short. I like it overall and the design is well thought out. pockets are good size and placement. I got mine cheap though when gameplan gear went out of business, dont think I would spend more than $75 on it max. I have a fieldline backpack from wally world I grab half the time...

I have the Full Rut pack from GPG. Weighs 4.5 lbs. I don't necessarily know that I "feel" the weight, but when doing full weight comparisons of different saddle approaches it makes up a big chunk of the total load. I usually leave it at home in favor of a smaller Alps pack that is 1.5 lbs.

Call me a weight weenie I guess. The Full Rut is nice and has lots of compartments. Great if you like to take lots of kit into the woods. I used to.

I have one and really like it. Lile mention, there is no hip belt. Otherwise it would be perfect for me. The pockets are great. One real nice thing is the hypalon/antler strap....if necessary you can really put alot on it.
