Yea/Nay: Saddle + strong winds?

keep an eye out for beech trees with beech bark disease

they can be alive with leaves and look healthy from a distance, but wind will snap them in half
 
I actually feel so much safer in a saddle than a treestand on windy days. Just pick a larger diameter tree to cut down the swaying during gusts.
 
I’ll sit in a saddle in much higher winds than i will a stand. Regardless of what i’m in, if the winds get unsafe to be in a tree… you will find me on the ground or back at the truck.
