Not a bad idea! But I will tell you one thing. I am going to play that music when I am climbing out of the tree! Did you see how fast he is! Hahaha! I love the Stepp system and cannot wait for the platform to be available. Most of mine are preset spots and have 2 to 3 per tree and having to use the bolt method to get to them. With the platform I will have enough stepps with the aider I can use them to change trees and not just the pre drilled trees!Wow. So I don't know if it's the music but that makes me want to sell my muddy Pro sticks for the wild edge system and aider.
How much do you want for the Ameristeps?I'm done with my ameristeps... wild edge here i come...
Is that the new rope?
No I needed a longer rope to get around the buttress of some large cypress trees so I put some hollow rope on it.

Undoing the stepp knot can be a pain to undo in the dark while hanging from a tree. So I started making a loop with the tag end. See pic below...
Just wanted to pass this tip on for those using this climbing method

Yea, that trick isn't necessary with the rope that comes with the stepps. I've been experimenting with different ropes cause I'm still looking for something that packs smaller. With other ropes the knot cinches down pretty tight and it makes it easier to pull out.As far as untying the knot I've found that after I push a couple inches of slack through the knot it is as easy to reach to the bottom side of the step and pull it through from there. Then the step will come off the tree. If I put all the tag en through from the top first I still have to reach to the bottom and pull it through again.
How many are you carrying?I am still not a fan of the bag. Anyone come up with something that works better? I find the zipper is a pain, need 2 hands, one to pull down on bag under the zipper and a second to zip. The other night as I was coming down, 1 stepp fell out of the bag, I guess I didn't have it zipped up enough and when I stepped now to next step it popped out.

I've considered adding a stiffener to the bag. Just not sure hot to pull it off. If you get the first one sitting in there perfect and and each one after that zip it up a little it will work as is. I usually put the top three in the bag then the next two I tuck the rope into my belt and let them hang. But the time I take the next one off I just drop the two off my belt and the one I'm untying to the ground. By then they are only dropping a few feet. As long as they don't hit anything other than the ground they don't make much noise. I'm using an aider and eight stepps. If I was using more I would have to find a way to make the bag work better. The zipper is a ykk zipper so it is quality but it is on the small side. I think when I swap out for the new rope it will work ok.
