I pulled the trigger on one of FL's new Origin hoodies. Looks like a very versatile early season piece, especially with the DWR coating to ward off light rain.

Looks awesome. Just can't justify $170 for a hoodie.

I thought about it for a while before deciding to splurge. First Lite stuff isn't cheap...nor is any high end stuff from the likes of Scentlok, Sitka or other similar clothing suppliers.

What finally swung me to buying it was being able to use it as an early season light "jacket" with DWR water resistance, and also as a colder weather layer, so a fair bit of versatility there. I also like FL gear and try to buy a few new pieces every year that make sense to add to my collection.

Shoot me now for not wearing Sitka but when I’m in a hoody situation I have a carhart 1/4 zip rain gear hoody (green not that it matters) and I just wear a scentlok base layer

I was in Fleet Farm and there was a Milwaukee tool hoodie made of a synthetic.
Felt pretty rugged. I might yet buy one.
It reminded me of this thread.

Got my FL Origin Hoody today. Nice. Fits well....very comfortable just like all FL stuff I have. The integrated face mask is nice...doesn't fog my glasses when I put it on, which is a huge bonus. Sleeves nice and long, with plenty of length to use the thumb holes easily.

Yet to be determined how well the DWR coating sheds water, but I'm pleased with the hoody so far.

This is meant to be an early season/layering piece but I’d bet it’d work for you southern hunters or maybe even into mid season.(note: it says out of stock because it’s not being sold just yet, that’s standard for Scentlok, it should be available probably mid July/early august

Just got the sitka traverse cold weather hoody in the mail. I really like it will probably be my new go to hoody/ light jacket for most of the archery season here in Pennsylvania. Plus I got it for about $70 off of retail price.

Just wish it had windstopper in it

I like this but no pockets?

Looks like Swazi makes one with no hood and a kangaroo pocket. "The Doughroaster" (The aforementioned pockety.....)
My apologies if somebody already mentioned this.

I have a heavy Mad Dog fleece hoodie. I think it was made by stearns several years ago. It’s waterfowl camo but serves the purpose for deer too. Like was mentioned it works about 75% of the time. It has a “coating “ that makes it water resistant too. I did pick up an UA quarter zip cold gear shirt but it seems to have a glossy sheen on the camo pattern.

Not sure if it was in here but natural gear make a windproof hoodie, 300g. Looks like they’re out of stock now but keep checking. Nat gear is good stuff and their customer service people are awesome; they are actual sportsmen and women just like us and use the gear they sell and can answer just about any question you might have.

I've been waiting patiently for almost 6 months to avail so I finally contacted NG. Their response was that they currently have them on order for two retailers and they will only be in stock on the website if the factory makes more than the two retailers ordered, and they have no ETA. I checked with both retailers and one of them alledgedly had exactly one in stock in my size. She said it's only $50 so I'm really hoping it's the right one. Just putting this info out therein case there's anybody else out there looking for this hoodie, don't expect it on the website any time soon.
