Tethrd One Stick Gen 3's - Season review so far

I just placed orders (plural) for 4 sticks. The shipping for 3 sticks was $22. The shipping for a single stick was .....$22.
$44 in shipping for 4 pounds worth of sticks.
A couple months ago, I shipped 4 full length Lone Wolf sticks (10 pounds) through my work for $24. We get a bulk shipping discount from UPS, and I am sure Tethrd does too.
I am anxious to give the Ones a try, but something definately seems off here.

I got size 13 boots and foot room is not an issue for me, to me since the step and tree bracket are the same piece you can step anywhere on it instead of a 1/4" wide step. You might have to turn your foot sideways a little but I have to do that with any sticks.
Yeah, I'm a 12 wide and just playing around in the yard, I know I'll have zero issues.
I do not stand on my sticks per say. I lean back on my lineman's lanyard and this wedges me to the stick. I could climb little bumps on a tree like this. If I were climbing it without a lanyard, then yeah it'd feel small.
Red, Size 12 boots here as well. If you are used to steps that allow you to step on top each step with your toes, the shallow standoffs of these sticks will definitely feel crowded. I climb on each step with the arch of my foot and toes pointed out while also using a linesmans belt. Stepping on the steps with just toes doesn't give that secure a feel when climbing.
I have size 13s climbing the sticks seems fine to me. When hanging a stand or platform I put my heel to start of my arch on the step and rest of foot against the tree. I find it super comfortable and easy that way. Trying to hang a stand standing on the stick traditionally introduces some calve fatigue.
You are prepaying for the “free return shipping” now when the Gen 3 recall comes out later.
I can agree with that and will say that the shallow height of a set of these sticks when stacked, and their packability is almost worth the stand off height tradeoff.
I recently got a set of 3, hunted off them yesterday, I liked them, definitely can tell they're closer to the tree than the beast sticks I've been using, but they were fine. I spliced up some amsteel aiders, and stealth strip the tubes, just need to stealth strip or paint the face of the steps/standoffs to blend in a little better and maybe pick up one or 2 more.
Man that's some step spacing. What would you guess that height to top stick to be ~22'?
I'd recommend Stealth strips for face of the steps. Use them a few more times you'll find they need all the sound deadening they can get.

21-22' feet to top step I'd guess, aiders are 20" step. But I'm also 6', mostly legs and real nimble, so I space my sticks farther apart than most. In that particular tree using the fork as another step helped to gain height as well.
I have a big roll of stealth strips already, was thinking of using it on the the front and sides of the steps/standoffs, there was a few times yesterday I had made some inadvertent noise, but not bad.
Really like to see Tethrd make an XL version where the top step is bigger with side traction so it can be your platform. To me saddle hunting is all about being nimble and light as feasible and a 3-4lb platform utterly defeats the purpose of it.
Anyone else have to deburr the top step? Where the step angles upwards at the end. That's where my aiders connect to, and noticed my aiders getting significantly chewed up from just playing around with them in the back yard. Getting tired of having to deburr everything I own lol
Does anyone using a JX3 hybrid use the one stick? How well do they fit in the fold . I currently use
full length lone wolf sticks and the stand offs stick out out on each side allowing the back to fold
up nice and flat.

This seems to be the safest method of climbing a tree, in that this is what Arborists that climb every day use and they have safety standards that they have to comply with. This has to also be about the lightest most versatile method as well.
