Hypothetically, what would be the best cross loading carabiner?

If I were going to go that route, I would choose a small steel one that locked.
One of the thicc bois like the BD Peargate. Hypothetically if I were to use such a thing hundreds of times without ill consequence. I know it's a favorite topic of the innernet safety cops, and I'm well aware of what crossloading is, and executed properly, a biner girthed around a tree ain't it fellas.
My understanding, and it may be incomplete, is that cross loading is a situation where the carabiner is loaded across a hard edge on its side. I think this would be possible on a very small tree where the carabiner could be loaded along its axis over the round profile of the tree, weakening it. In rock climbing this could be a lot more common since rocks have a lot of hard, sharp, squarish edges.
Beats me but I suspect it's part of our never ending contest to see who can be the safest safety supervisor of them all.
If I were going to go with a normal 'biner I'd use a Rondo with slide lock or whatever from Australpine

Not knowledgeable enough to reply with specifics, but I would think any locking steel carabiner would suffice, key being steel not aluminum. But I dunno, I use a quick link.
Yeah of the things slowing me down, weighing me down, or making my process clunky the quick link really isn’t one of em.
Any biner rated for climbing? I use the regular old black diamond 3 pack biner.... Also use a wire gate on my carry with me aider

Wire gates are standard use items in alpine climbing where icy conditions will freeze the gates shut on locking carabiners. Rock climbing and mountaineering have been around a lot longer that saddle hunting so wire gates can't be the instant death sentence they are made out to be otherwise mountain climbers would not be using them thousands of feet up a mountain in icy conditions. That said, if folks want to err on the side of caution and use a locking carabiner or an auto locker that is cool with me.
