Well I thought my dreams were coming true today. A giant walking down the path. I could hear the monster steps crushing leaves as it got closer. I started to grab my bow and I could see movement through the trees. A few more steps and I’ll see the buck I’ve been waiting for. Oh! There he is! The world record raccoon just looking at me crushing my dreams.
Same. My brother saw a monster near where I hunted today, yesterday. Got setup. Saw 3 groups of different does. None had bucks with them.
Later another doe goes by running. 25 seconds later I hear a grunt from the saplings. My heart started racing. Finally this hot pepper turd of a season is finally turning around.
Out comes a spike with perhaps half inch spikes.

Yep, elk hunters are soft. That’s why I always offer to help people see the light with elk hunting. It’s easy to find 800# animals. Whitetails are sneaky little critters with ninja like sneaking abilities and head gear like wolverine’s blades.

A little salt in the wound. I spoke with a guy from Michigan. He tells me Kansas is easy hunting and only planned to be here a few days. I gave him my dog so he could kick it too.

KS definitely has some B&C Coons! I saw one that had to be push 20lbs. They love to come walking out about 5 mins before legal light too.

Well, after a very disappointing morning I received some great help from baz77. I was getting ready to make a big move hopeful of better things to come. Then, my wife texts…. My oldest son is headed into the doctors office and asks if I can come home. So I finished an evening hunt with no deer. However, I spoke to my Michigan friend and he hadn’t seen anything. I don’t feel bad now.
Thank you all for the support. Headed home for mulies.

Idk about kansas. But NE Oklahoma seems to be firing back up a bit. Getting pictures a lot of daylight bucks moving and some chasing pictures on cam.
I hunted NE OK 11/12 - 11/16. First day was great, then the weather heated up to 75 and seemed to slow the activity.
Different from all the previous year's that I hunted in November.
Over the last week, buddies in NE OK are now sharing their buck harvest photos with me :>)

Next year...

Mid day update. Saw a few does between 10 and noon. All small first year does. Mom either is doing things kids can’t see or she got caught slipping in the early seasons. I hope to bring better news.IMG_5114.jpegIMG_5115.png
