Does anyone have a side-by-side pic of the .5 with the standard and tall post? I am absolutely wracking my brain trying to decide what to do here...
I bought a new .5 two years ago and hunted with it during bow season that year. I use it as a hang-on stand, not a hybrid platform.
I ended up selling it prior to my Appalachian Trail thru hike last year knowing I would eventually get another. My only complaint was the seat height.
I am 5'8 145lbs so I am not a tall or big guy, thus the standard seat was ok (despite not having sidekick mounting holes which I do not understand), however, I much prefer a taller post for bow hunting. Just so much movement trying to quietly limb up the tree using my shoulder blades. I had a ooal lil ambush once and I thought it was absolutely the perfect size (longer, narrow platform, and taller post) but being the UL purist that I am, i couldn't get over the weight and the 2-piece design.
Anyway, if anyone has any input on the tall post, as a shorter guy, using it as a stand, that would be great. I read through all the threads I could find but only saw comments from 6ft+ people regarding the tall post.
I was considering the retrograde as it looks to have close to a 2" taller post than the .5 despite the specs being the same. I just cant seem to make myself like the looks of it enough to write off lwcg. TIA
