Waldrop Pac Seat Mod page

Did anyone find a good way to pad the straps, or replace with good padded straps? I wonder if CGM could sew up some thick pads that Velcro/snap on??? Hmmmmm

Got my new one in today. I ordered it earlier this week.
I’m not finished tinkering with it, but I was able to add my Handi Pak meat hauler to it as well as rig up the Sherman pocket from my Kifaru pack so that it attaches.
You can easily haul your layers between the Sherman pocket. I set up the pocket so that I can take it completely off if needed as well.

Did some tinkering with the pac seat after putting a few hunts on it.

1.) The Handi Pak and the Sherman Pocket work great.
2.) wasn’t crazy about the stock straps

Swapped out the stock straps for some LWCG straps and it’s a night/day difference.
I was able to use the same pins/locations as the originals. This moves the seat a couple inches higher, which was just about right for me.

Looks nice.
How did you attach the waist belt?

How did you attach the waist belt?

I ended up using the same pins and location from the original waist belt. I used a couple washers to keep the pin from pulling through with a heavy load on it. I backed it up with some zip ties as well. I loaded it up and couldn’t see any sign of it trying to pull through. It raises the seat a couple inches and puts the top about an inch above my shoulders, so it’s low enough that it doesn’t catch on anything (sits where my hang on does) but high enough that you’ve got a little more room to prevent hitting the tennis balls with your heel. You can tighten the waist belt and leave the shoulder straps fairly loose and it’s hardly noticeable. Here are a few more pics of it. I’m pretty satisfied with the set up.

I cannot find them on Amazon anymore? I noticed someone said he doesn’t have a long wait time anymore. Anyone order one lately and have a shipping time? Thanks

I ordered mine one morning while hunting off of the terribly uncomfortable (relative to the pac seat..) 3 legged chair I have and got a notification later that day that it had shipped, and I received it a few days later.

I got tired of lubing the tubes with Pledge where the seat fabric wraps around to prevent squeaks so I wrapped stealth strip around the tubes after removing the seat fabric (don't be intimidated it's tied on like a shoe lace with an overhand knot at the end).
The stealth strip is working good after a couple hunts. The fuzz on the stealth strip is just enough to offset the rubberized coating of the awning/chaise lounge fabric of the seat.
I'll report back after several hunts once I make sure the stealth strip doesn't rub through or end up squeaking somehow again.

I have sat with mine about 3 times. I have a seat pad, but it seems like I’m getting a lot of pressure on my lower back. Right at my tail bone. I probably need to sit more up right. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? Advice?

I fractured my tailbone about 20 years ago and I had the same problem with the regular seat. I ended up selling that and buying the turkey seat to try out because I really wanted to make it work. I don't know if the geometry is any different or what, but the turkey seat does not bother my tailbone at all. Maybe you could borrow the turkey seat from someone to give it a shot?

Per the instructions, you can adjust the seat configuration by tightening or loosening the tension on the seat cord. Maybe that would help you.

Man, this thread is a bitter reminder how bad I want one of these. Unfortunately, no budget for a $300+ chair this year.

Off topic/on topic ... didn't someone mention on this forum that David is reinvesting in his manufacturing process to crank out more volume?
Correct!!! We have gone from manufacturing 6 per month to roughly 30 per week. The seat costs we gave brought down to $225.00 and the shipping costs we are still fighting with UPS on. However, I do have a $20 coupon code to save with.

Not much to mine.

But it works. On a good hunt I usually walk out with deboned meat in the backpack and layers strapped to the bottom lashing. Compass, bug spray, and water bottle stay accessible in side pockets. Knife and TP and other trinkets stay in top accessory pocket. Pack material is fleece layered over neoprene, so it's super quiet which works well with the ground hunting close to the deer concept.

What I really want is better backpack and waist straps on the seat. Gets a little uncomfortable for my delicate self packing out meat on it, but I've done it several times the past 2 years. Biggest pack out was a whole, 100lb hog ratchet-strapped to the chair while I drug a smaller hog in each hand about a quarter mile back to the truck. Not something I wanna repeat.
I'm thinking of cutting of about 3-4" of my seat, making it closer to the ground like the turkey chair. Shot a deer last nite sitting out in an open field. Would be nice to be a little shorter maybe. You need the Waldrop Wide Version to carry three pigs.

Bumping this back up, been hunting out of my pac seat a few times here this season and decided to do a few mods.

Purchased this from Arkie and he had lone wolf straps on some of the Camo wrap and a bag on the back (water bladder holder which was very nice)

Couple things I was thinking when doing the mods, 1st was hoping for a bit more space come winter and also wanted the ability to bring stuff to climb and sit when going in blind.

2nd although the lonewolf straps are a nice upgrade I don’t like how they connect to the top bar (makes the chair sit lower on your back and makes the straps long vs being able to to come out for larger guys like me)

So I had this mystery ranch mule laying around from a purchase of a mystery ranch cabinet and frame this bag is awesome for this can be had for relatively inexpensive and allows for carrying
Meat or large items with the shelf…would 10 out if 10 recommend this bag for it.
I then ran the lone wolf straps lower to the frame and was then able to add the top mystery ranch bag straps over the top and it is perfect load lifters.

Can you show how you attached the shoulder straps? I’m contemplating putting grommets into a set and attaching them that way.

Well I guess technically you did and I didn’t read far enough. I want a lower attachment point as well. The high point makes the bottom rail thunk against the back of my legs.

I will send some better pics In min it made a huge difference. I think best is if they made the seat with a bar about 3- 4” lower than the top bar off set so that it doesn’t hit your back when you sit in the chair but this works well and carry way better
