1/4" (Whoopie Sling Style) Amsteel Bridge ???

LOL - I got it all filmed, but didn't finish the edit. Family duties called...I had to take the wife and daughter to the MALL....KILL ME.

If I get off work at a decent time tonight, I'll finish it and post it tonight.

I demonstrated 3 versions in the video:
1: 24" Bridge with two locked brummels.
2. 24" Bridge with 1 locked brummel and 1 lock stitch capturing both loops on a Sitdrag
3. A secondary lineman belt aka whoopie sling.

I also went over all the tools and some helpful hints for making them work.

Could you use the “secondary lineman belt” option as an adjustable bridge?

You could. And more than likely the 7/64ths is strong enough with a 1,600 lb breaking strength. It seems like the collective opinion around here is 1/4" is a better option with an 8,000 lb strength.

What is the average length bridge for a sit Drag that most guys are using?

Mine is about 30 inches. Seems like most guys end up in the 24-30 range.

Also for an adjustable bridge are you girth hitching one side and using a biner on the adjustable side. ?

Watched the video. Great job. Was thinking of making a whoopie sling for a bridge until I'm sure of the length I want. I'm guessing make the start of the second bury the distance I think I would want the bridge to be at its shortest length.

I lengthen mine sand shorten it all the time. I think it gets shorter as the season goes on? anyone else do this?

Also, you could make a whoopie sling (secondary lineman belt) out of 1/4" Amsteel and use that as an adjustable bridge. You could splice that to a saddle without a lock stitch.

I'm just torn whether I should make a whoopie out of 1/4" for the bridge/secondary linemans or make a 1/4" bridge and 1/8" secondary linemans. I could make the 1/4 shorter for the adjustable saddle and the 1/8" longer for the linemans. That 1/8" sure would pack down nicely. What you guys think?

You're gonna need about 13-15 foot for an 8' max.

I do the same thing but with a prussic on Samson ultra tech.

I am going to make a whoppie sling out some 6 mm Samson rope and try that instead
