10mm rope as a bridge

Can I use 10mm rope like what xop has for their lifelines? That is what was used for a lineman's belt with their stand. It is too short, I will make over hand knots and replace my web bridge on myTL saddle. Thoughts?

That should work just fine. Figure 8 follow-through would be the preferred knot, though.
