16gauge vs 22mag

I am debating whether to by a 22 mag to use hog hunting vs the 16 gauge that I already have. I will be limited to #2 shot or smaller with the 16 gauge. I am not allowed to use centerfire. What would you guys do?

Can you use archery tackle or a handgun? If not, .22 mag is the only option worth considering.

I hate hog regs on public land.

I can use archery....I am considering that too..maybe I just want to buy another gun? Shooting a 22 is just fun for some reason.

A bow or crossbow is a much deadlier choice. I have killed pigs hammer-dead with a .22 mag, but it's not ideal.

17hmr is my go to for hogs. Tack driver accuracy and cheap to shoot. Ear hole out to 100 easy and it’ll be laying in its tracks
