I want to say thank you to all you guys.

I got up in the tree today well sorta. Does 18” in. off the ground count? I told you all after I had my fall, I was going to go slow. A lot of you said to work from the ground or low first. I am heeding the advise. I set two wild Edge steps as a platform.

I worked on my set up and sat for 1/2 an hour. I felt very safe. I moved around the tree just getting comfortable again.

I practiced moving into shooting positions and was amazed at how comfortable it was.

For me the Kestrel is more comfortable than the sit drag. I can see why most everyone is enjoying it.

I can see why a lot you recommend using the ropeman especially on the lineman’s belt.

Thank you all.

I might be one of the few that use a ropeman 1 on my tether and my bridge also on my linesman belt . I like all the adjustments . I would keep practicing from the ground until you get comfortable. Then I would move up the tree maybe 4 feet or so and practice there for awhile. The main thing is move at your own pace. Be comfortable and enjoy it's a great way to hunt and the only way to bowhunt and thats the only way I hunt.

Glad you have been met with success. I feel the same in my Evo. Will probably bite the bullet on the Kestral this Spring.

He has huge oak trees in his front yard. He can 4’ or 40’ in the air.

The more time you spend in a saddle, the more comfortable you will be with it. Give it a season and you will be falling asleep in that Kestrel.

I fell asleep in my kestrel a few times this year. I trust it but I still wake up in a panic when I’m sleeping in the kestrel and a foot slips off a step.

I also use a ropeman on both LB and tether. I think it’s the best piece of equipment that makes a huge difference. One handed adjustment is quick and simple Be safe and take your time!

I fall asleep sitting on a hang on stand and outdated safety harness. I mean I actually get into a dream state. Been having trouble staying awake in the tree for a few years now. Dangerous and a bit scary.
It's one of the main reasons I ordered a Kestrel. It should arrive in 3 weeks or less. Can't wait!

I've fallen asleep in my Kestrel and my Guido's web and even my treesuit but I had a hard time sleeping in my Trophy Line. I do catch up on my sleep while saddlehunting .

And I thought I was the only one with this problem. I love napping in the woods. I am a very light sleeper. I have been trying to quit and did a lot better this year than most.
I typically only go out for a couple minutes but I remember this one morning hunt in Minnesota where I really went out and I woke myself up by snoring. I look down and there's a small six point looking up at me 10 yards away....lol

I got in it yesterday for about an hour. Still low and going slow. But I feel safe.

I think we have all fallen asleep hunting. Never havev in a tree though. That may change with this system.
