My arrows with mechanicals will pass through a turkey. In fact one spot I set up is on a little hill and I've lost multiple arrows in the plowed field after passing through the turkey. They buried in the dirt and I couldn't find them. I've only had a couple that didn't pass through and that's cause I hit the pelvis bone. Such as the one I shot last year

They go down fast when you hit them there. The red spot 4" below is where my buddy hit that bird. We did not find it. They sure can be tough to kill
What do you do with the feet? I've got a couple turkey fans I made but didn't keep the feet. I did keep the spurs from my first turkey
Never could get it right. Calling with a wingbone.
I'll have to find it, but I cut the spurs off the feet, pushed the bone out and added them to a piece of shock cord for a necklace.
I definitely have a bargain bin setup. Maverick 88 12 ga. with an HS STRUT Undertaker choke. I only shoot out to 40, but I killed my first bird at 50 with that setup because I misjudged the yardage. I plan to push past 50 this year on the range and see how it patterns.

This is what I do. I don’t typically keep the feet except for the spurs.

That Winchester Super X has been the worst load I've seen on paper through two 870's. Absolutely terrible even at 20 yards. My dad was shooting those and he never put his gun on paper. He kept missing birds and we found out why quickly.
