In Georgia we’re about a month out from the season starting, March 30th for private lands and April 6th for public, so I thought I’d kick off the 2024 Turkey Thread! It’ll be here before we know it so I’m making all my preparations in due time. Anyone have any goals for this season? Out of state hunts? New techniques or gear?
My goal is to tag a bird with my dad’s turkey gun. Nothing fancy: a Rem 870 from the early 70’s, an unknown brand of turkey choke and homemade paint job I helped him do nearly 30yrs ago when I was a kid. It hasn’t seen any hunting action in prob two decades or more but the sentimental value has me knocking the dust off! I’m hoping to pattern it this weekend and see how she does.
