8mm Tether?

Hey folks.

Currently running a Latitude Outdoors Vaporline lineman’s belt and I love it. I have that paired with an 11 mm Tethrd tether with Ropeman 1.

Thinking of going with 8mm tether/Kong Duck to reduce weight. Vaporline is a top choice but wanted to know what others are running and any recommendations.

Oplux or resc tech, but I much prefer a friction hitch over a mechanical.

I trust rope more and it can be just as easily adjusted w/ a tender. I buy my stuff from Eastern Woods Outdoors!

Got it. I actually connect my Prussik to my carabiner/mechanical using an Amsteel loop as a back up. EWO is great

I used an 11mm linesman’s and tether will Ropeman 1 last year, ropes were from Tethrd. Worked fine, Ropemans worked well.

This year though I’m doing an 8mm lineman’s and a rappel rope for my tether. I’m using a friction hitch with tender and it seems to work near as well as a Ropeman 1. The reduction in bulk is significant however, I could fit two 8mm ropes where I couple have fit one 11mm rope.
