The worst I deal with is brick manufacturers. If I need 30000 they don’t have in stock they may have a date scheduled to start running that particular model and are pretty accurate on times. If there isn’t already a date set it may be 6-16 weeks but no guarantee on that time frame. It will be different on the mantis and I’m sure it won’t take that long scheduling them in. I expected to get another update Monday with another delay. I could see the manufacturer moving on down the line because of the delay at the test facility. I am glad they waited for the strength test before going full speed with manufacturing. Had the pull test failed they would have been SOL since the manufacturer is just assembling their design. That could have been the end of tethrd before it even got started. It’s my understanding that was basically what put the nail in the coffin for trophyline. It was just hearsay but I heard they rejected a shipment of saddles but had no real recourse with the foreign based company. I still want it tomorrow but will be patient as I wait. I may be totally wrong and shipment of the first batch may only be delayed until Friday. So @g2outdoors prove me wrong. Also technically you did start shipping mid July or earlier. Pretty sure I remember you saying something about carabiners way before the mid July time frame lol.

I noticed when you give some news that is pleasing to the ear everyone hits the like button a whole bunch, but nobody hit the like button for this post so I went ahead and hit it for you. We all know you and Ernie are working as hard as you can to get these products in our hands. Don't stress out too much brother. Have a cold beer maybe do some fishing. I'd like to say it'll calm down eventually but I'm hoping for y'all sake it doesn't. I hope y'all stay so busy you have to hire people to delegate all this work to so y'all can spend your days hunting and fishing. And of course counting all your money!

I had the same thought and just realized you posted this same thing.

I haven’t ever used a saddle, and would love to practice with mine before the season starts. But I also know Greg and Ernie have lives and other jobs as well. So if I have to jump to the wolves during the season then that’s what I’ll do so I can learn how to use it.

I also would love to thank Greg for getting back to my email extremely quickly about combining my orders and changing one of the email addresses on it. Used an old dud one by accident.

Love seeing updates even if they aren’t what we want. Really shows how much passion these guys have for their product and what they are doing. Very happy I placed my order and have no regrets about it.

I’m still pretty new to saddle hunting. If you ordered the predator you really don’t need a pile of practice to be as proficient as you would be with a hang on. Mainly getting comfortable and figuring out what move you have to make for each shot. Once season gets here you will start tweaking your setup and figuring out what you need to do in order to sit comfortably. Then before you know it the saddlehunter effect creeps up on you and you have a truckload of climbing systems and ropes, platforms and steps.

That’s the reason I went with the predator. I think the hardest part will be learning to trust the saddle and learning to shoot from it. I’m not really worried about it, but it will be different.

As far as the saddlehunter effect of having tons of gear, I’m supposed to blame @g2outdoors right?:tearsofjoy:

It will be fine. They get here when they get here. I would feel different if I didn’t already have a set up or sold my Kestrel counting on the mantis.
Note to self: always have a back up.
For you guys getting the mantis as your 1st saddle, go ahead and update your cart to 2! Lol

It’s funny how that works. One of the biggest pros is you only need one saddle and hunt as many trees as you want. I think John E has been hunting out of the same modified sling for 30 something years. There are a few die hard sit drag guys but most of us have a pile of saddle gear.

Got my email from Greg. Looking like shipping starts maybe next week on mantis and such. No worries on my part I like knowing I'm Safe. That doesn't Mean I can't freakin wait though

You gotta guarantee the manufacturing companies like 10,000!saddles and predators a year. Just use the kids college funds. LOL

All fun aside that is how it works. But it takes time to build up your cash flow to guarantee to buy that. But when you can, you negotiate better pricing.

Eric do you work for a brick distributor?

10,000 saddles per year? Man, I really didn’t want that many saddle hunters in the woods. How many members are we up to on this site?

Got Gregs email as well. Start by saying like the open communication. As a first time saddle buyer / Hunter I would like nothing more than to get this thing to practice with but totally understand the situation and appreciate all the hard work the tethrd team is doing. For all the newbies I have been practicing by taking an old hss harness and making a bridge between the linemans loops and hanging from an HSS tether. I am using screw in steps for a ring. Granted I'm only 2 feet off ground but it gets the feeling. Can't wait to get this but also really appreciate everything you guys are doing, the work that goes into this project and the commitment to quality.

I can wait on my saddle how ever long we have to but if platform is available I’d sure like to have it to get practicing. It would also be nice to have it in time to let the finish air out. I’m thinking about having one of my buddies hit it with bed liner.

@g2outdoors some of the updates read like a riddle. This one was pretty straight forward but I have to admit when I read about Ernie using rut days to box shipments I was disappointed. First thing that popped in my mind was Ernie’s rut wasn’t until November. I had to stop and read it one more time. I liked it a lot better the second time I read it. Once again thanks to both of you.
