.22. Got a Hatsan 95 in the mail the other day. Just cleaned it today. We'll see how it goes tomorrow!@Red Beard sorry if i missed it, what caliber did you end up going with .22 or .25?
nice, so far I've seen a heck of a lot more squirrels than deer, and my kids (and I) really want to eat something I've harvested so may be following in your footsteps shortly..22. Got a Hatsan 95 in the mail the other day. Just cleaned it today. We'll see how it goes tomorrow!
I finally got the replacement fill valve after the USPS delays. I think the valve went for a trip around the country. The new valve is different and seems to be much better quality than the original. I filled it yesterday and the air pressure needle was in the same spot today. I have to sight it in.After an hour the pressure had dropped from 2000 psi to 1500 psi. Apparently this is a common problem. I will see if I can find the leak. Just shooting around the house and with a scuba tank, this would be a minor issue. If I wanted to go hunting all day on one fill it would not be good.
I dry fired it a few more times in the basement and the puppy upstairs didn't make a peep. The trigger feels OK with a bit of creep. I was expecting much worse. Many people said it may need more teflon tape at the fill fitting or the gauge. I like to tinker so I will do that.

I thought I remembered reading about how the Maximus can use CO2.@Red Beard you don't have anything new or time- consuming going on recently have you had a chance to test your hatsan out? and did you get the regular spring or vortex gas spring (and if vortex, QE or no?)
@bj139 i wish there was a PCP gun that would work on CO2/ welding gas. i've got those tanks already but understand it's not stable/ reccomended for air PCP guns. looking forward to hearing more about how yours works with the new valve as well.
Hahaha! Yeah I know, right?@Red Beard you don't have anything new or time- consuming going on recently have you had a chance to test your hatsan out? and did you get the regular spring or vortex gas spring (and if vortex, QE or no?)
$$$$$$$$I put my name on a waiting list for a fx maverick sniper in .22
Yeah. That's a little bit too pricey for me too, for a BB gun.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I filled the old bird feeder on the ground out back with sunflower seeds. It was empty. I also put up an old political sign in the yard for sighting in purposes. My little Shetland Sheepdog puppy has made the squirrels quite skittish out back when he got away a few times and tried to catch them at a high rate of speed. I should just let him catch one to break him of the habit of chasing them. I am training the squirrels to ignore the window going up by moving it up and down a few times a day while they are there. Eventually they just keep eating and ignore it.I thought I remembered reading about how the Maximus can use CO2.
I have to set up a target out back and sight it in with the scope I mounted. It is fairly loud and one of my neighbors might complain. A single shot at a squirrel would be unnoticed but multiple shots might.Benjamin Maximus on CO2??? - Airguns & Guns Forum

I see a squirrel most everyday but I haven't had the urge to shoot yet. If I get one one I will probably be bringing fleas into the house. In the past, I think I stuffed one into a plastic bag outside and put it in the freezer for a few hours to get the skin off while the fleas are still dormant without them jumping everywhere. It has happened before. So, how's the nutterbusting going? :^)
