Amsteel Straps/stick Mods?

I have several different sizes of amsteel and use it for all kinds of stuff……….splicing is easy and FUN to do!. I made a secondary bridge with it, I use it on my one stick with cam cleat, my gear hanger with an aluminum jamcam, but maybe my best or at least favorite use is on my platform. I fell in love with the OCB but threading it isn’t very easy…….it is not intuitive. I use a short looped ends piece I made maybe a foot long, with small enough loops to just fit over the button. Hook one loop, then wrap it over the bar on the buckle 3 times for a perfect fit, then attach the last loop. This way I keep the OCB threaded, throw the strap around the tree and attach the loop on the end of strap to button. With a ROS step on each side of my platform it is the best setup I can imagine and I will probably never change this setup.
For what it’s worth, I get all my dyneema off Amazon and have had no cons with it. I also bought my first set of ropes off of there too, but DONT DO THAT! I feel like I’m lucky to be alive using that junk! Oh it was strong, and held me just fine. BUT, after a few uses, I started feeling compromised spots…….I inspect my ropes everytime I wrap them up and have done that from the beginning.
When I got my Canyon elite from EWO, I could tell I had the good stuff in my hands! Get the good stuff! I currently use resctech for 1 sticking and have the C-IV coming for SRT. I have shopped around and cannot find a better price by the foot than at EWO. I just wish they offered a few more ropes, like an 11mm Sampson by the foot……hint hint

Shortly before Christmas, I bought 56' of 1/8" Amsteel blue from SRE with the goal of tying my own daisy chains for a new set of Beast sticks. (14x4 will hopefully yield suitable 7' end products) The cost of doing a DIY for four is not much more than buying a single one from a saddle company or Etsy cottage industry builder. After watching several videos of the process, I am hoping to get my first one underway today.....since we have been pretty much snowed in since Friday the timing for a cottage project seems very fitting.
I was the same way.. but had some 3/16 Amsteel laying around and made a daisy chain to trucker hitch and experiment on platform. It locks predator into the tree almost too tight. Worked great so that’s what I’m using now.
This afternoon I completed my first Amsteel daisy chain for my beast sticks and it turned out pretty decent. So early this evening I sat down at the kitchen table and cranked out a second one.,,,,only two more to go. So far....so good.

Amsteel daisy chains with a modified truckers hitch is what I use. Locks sticks on the tree super tight. Never had a kick out or other issue. Only complaint is taking them down with cold fingers.
That is what I plan to do. Over on the Latitude website, they have a short video of this process and I like the looks of it. Getting ready to start my 3rd daisy chain.
On platforms that cam over, amsteel has an advantage in not stretching as much as webbing. This makes it quieter because the thing just doesn't move on the tree and squeak or make other noises. I use an amsteel daisy chain (1/8" amsteel) and do a trucker's hitch usually.
if you use daisy and can get away wo tying the hitch, the platform/steps should have a little slack in them and will very easily come off the tree quietly and easy to handle w gloves on. if you have to add hitch to get rid of kick, then so be it.
