Last purchase I need for my platform build is my Amsteel rope. Where's everyone finding their Amsteel? Any of the big box stores carry it? I'm hearing most guys use 1/4"? Approximately 12'? How much is everyone paying on average? Thanks, really excited to wrap this thing up....pun intended!

I have been looking for a good 1/4" amsteel source as well .

I've seen it anywhere between $0.80 and $1.50 per foot but the shipping is crazy! Not sure why it would cost so much to ship 12' of a very light rope?!?!

Is there a reason to not go smaller? The 3/16 is still at 6000lbs of strength.

This is where I get all my lines. Great service and fast shipping. Plus shipping is free if the order is over fifty bucks. I have used them for years because I sail. Good folks.

Check out Notch Dryad dynamic @ Treestuff.. similiar to amsteel and comes in camo....3/8, 1/2, 3/4....
.59- .99 cents a foot and cheap shipping.

Sorry for my ignorance but the Notch Dryad dynamic is still a static rope right?
