If they just made it 3" narrower and 3" longer, I'd be in. It really is a jam up stand for the under 6' crowd. One downside is lack of platform leveling. But that is easily remedied.
Agree it’s darn good, but def not perfect. I also have an m100u but in the end preferred the M7 for most situations. Neither have been out since getting a jx3.

Edit: care to share your current preferred hang on?

The wind walker from treehopper is 8 pounds as ordered and you can get the backpack with it. He’s also going to be offering platform leveling on it within a month. It’s a pretty good stand for the price point.

How did you attach that butt bucket to the stand? I want to do somethign like this
I just looped the straps through slots on the stand. Takes 10 seconds. I typically take it off at the tree and stash my straps in it. It’s a cheap investment but I love that thing.

How r u guys using the .5 bring your pack up the tree?
What pack??
Kidding..
For a lot of people, especially me, the .5 and a bino harness removes the need of a pack. When it’s really cold or for an all day sit and I want to bring coffee and snacks I’ll use a very small pack that hooks to a very small hook on the post of the stand. At height I attach it to my saddle via a carabiner while I hang the stand and then it goes on my gear strap on the tree.

Chippewa Wedge Loc Quest. https://chippewawedgeloc.com/product/quest/ Light, sturdy as a rock and reasonably priced. Plus the hang on system is super quiet.
Glad to see their in business. Knew the original owners years ago. Must have been 10 years or so ago they were looking to sell. Great stands. Solid stands. Used to advertise their strength by hanging a VW Bug from one while on the tree. Still have a couple em around.

I love mine. I can get right on the side of it and it doesn't rock at all. Its a great product. I noticed they now have a saddle hunter platform now too.

Yeah I'm there. In the Carolina Piedmont, I'd say that 70% of the hunting trees (in my style at least) prefer a stand. Plus, I get busted less out of it.

Wow I didn't know Chippewa was back. Much like the windwalker, a few better options out there now imo but if nothing else I dig the nostalgia.

Now someone please bring back Loggy Bayou, no one has ever made a better climber.
I don't think Chippewa ever left, the original owners sold it to a couple of Amish guys who love to bowhunt is my understanding. I can tell you, when you're up on this stand, its super stable and quiet.

Just to clarify, I haven't "gone back" to mobile stands. I like to use them in certain situations or if my daughter wants to come with me on a hunt. Otherwise, I like them for super cold late winter hunts with bulky clothing like the HBS or the IWOM. My last two hunts I used the one stick I built this summer with the new EWO LP upper platform and ULS lower platform. Its a tank but super stable and with the three step ultimaider I'm up 18' in 10 minutes.

Thanks for asking because I was starting to think I was the only one that didn't know what a .5 was. Heck now to try and figure out all the other references going on.... it is tough being new to something so obviously is part of everyone else's daily vocabulary.

All the acronyms and abbreviations on forums drives me nuts as well. I think everyone typing on cell phones has made this worse. Technical writing skills are not a strong suite of most forum goers. You are not supposed to abbreviate something before you have fully defined it.

Technical writing skills would include correct spelling, editing, and a review before a draft becomes a final.
