Anyone using the Predator as a step with the knaider swaider?

I was reading another thread and someone mentioned using the predator as a step. Is anyone getting that last 5 feet using the platform and a knaider swaider, or other aider? It would be nice to drop a step. Also I'm wondering about the strength of the platform material on that leading edge. In my head I'm also thinking that may put your feet to far off the tree?

Hey now, let me the first person to reply to my own post. Even on the computer I can't seem to stop talking to myself, hahaha. Anyway, I was thinking it wouldn't be the same with the perch. It looks like it's not as deep as the predator, so maybe it wouldn't be to far out to use an aider. I guess I'll find out when my Perch arrives.

Yep @TedBright uses Cranford steps with aiders and an aider on his predator.

Forgot to add he has a video somewhere and demonstrated at Saddleplooza

Yes, I keep a CMI etrier attached to my Predator Platform at all times just in case I need a few extra feet. That combined with my 4 step/etrier system allows me to get 30’ with minimal weight and bulk. Here’s a short version of my system.

I just got my knaider/swaider back from the friend I loaned them to. Went out back to give my knaider/swaider off the front of the Predator platform idea a try.... Massive fail.... Hooking to the front with the K/S leaves you to far out from the tree, making the climb up not stable. It's not the swaider step up that's the problem. It's the hook up and step up with the knaider. The strap is to short, and the front of the platform is to far off the tree. Not something I'd want to do at 20 feet. I will try it again when I get my Perch, but for now with the Predator, NO DICE.

Interesting. Distance from tree is an obvious problem.

For the Perch I would think you would climb just the WE stepp with your Kn/Sw then install the Perch once you are up on the stepp.

For the Predator, what if you leave the platform in its upright (uncammed) position and use the bottom/back of the platform to hook into? Then cam it once you are up there. Might need a loop on there to hook the knaider into. I don't own a Predator so I'm just spit balling here. Probably nowhere near a safe maneuver considering our "year of safety here".

I was looking at my new Podium the other day and wondering if it is possible to "1-stick" with either of these platforms (use the platform in place of the stick)? Again, probably not a safe idea.
