How do I diagnose why I would be getting a right paper tear if I was paper-tuning my bow?

I’m making sure my anchor point is light on my face so that the string isn’t deflecting off of my face.

What are some other things I should be examining?

Your picture isnt of paper tear. Have you done a walk back to see if your arrows are drifting to one side, further off center as you back up? IF so, likely your center shot isnt correct. Could be torquing the bow, torquing the release, number of things really.

Correct, my picture isn’t of a paper tear. That’s why I had said I would have a right paper tear if I was paper tuning.

I shot my bow at 10 yards, 20 yards, 30 yards, and 40 yards. All of my arrows are entering at that same angle.

If they are entering at the same angle, then not sure what you mean by right paper tear. Are you suggesting your arrows arent stabalizing even at 40yds and still entering the target sideways? That aint happening, might be the type of target you have is directing the arrows into it on an angle.

What kind of bow ?? What set up do you have on your bow ?? Drop away or wisker bisket?? Have you shot it trough paper ?? I know I have a bow no matter what I did I would get a tail left tear bare shaft tuning. It would get a bullet hole half the time .... but not 100 %. Shooting the bow it would group well then out of the blue an arrow would hit random. Long story short I end up changing the strings and cables. After setting the bow back up it took about ten mins to bare shaft tune it. The bow now shoots fixed blade Broadheads dead on with field points. Oh by the way this was a brand new bow it just had bad strings and cables.

The Moment bow by Bear Archery. I have custom strings and cables on it. QAD drop away rest.

Brother, as a former bow tech, trying to get a tuning issue diagnosed on a forum is like going on WebMD and saying you have a sore throat. Allergies or throat cancer, who knows?

It could be a center shot issue, cam lean issue, arrow spine issue, form issue, etc. If the arrow flight looks good and you're happy with your groups, heck with it. If not, you either need a good tech or, if you're handy, an afternoon with a set of Allen wrenches and a beer.

Not trying to be unhelpful. But it's hard for somebody who has never seen your bow or you as a shooter accurately diagnose something like that.

The first thing I would do , if you have not would be to shoot it trough paper. If you are getting a tail right tear move your arrow rest to the left. Only move a 1/16 at a time. Remember your starting point. If everything is good this should fix it. If that don’t help then I would put it on a draw board check the cam timing and check your draw length.
