So I found this video the other day and man does he go up a tree effortlessly... how is he getting down? Haha

This system he uses to go up seems efficient but it seems loud and a lot of stuff to drag into the woods with you.

Any advice to a newbie interested in this way of climbing would be great!

Thats the rope walker system and its not for beginners. He gets down by using a descender.

I use a Singing tree rope wrench along with a rope walking system(knee ascender, foot ascender) as said not for beginners but a very efficient way to climb .

That guy in the Petzl RAD video is incredibly lucky to even be alive. He almost smashed his dome on this job (12:00 for the action shot)
and then shortly thereafter completely fell out of a tree

He should definitely find another line of work. Working aloft and in trees is very dangerous-gravity is not your friend.

His TIP broke on him, I talked to him about it on his youtube channel. He did a bounce test and everything was fine then BAM.
