speaking here of hitting your grunt call (or rattling) when you do not at the current moment see any deer.

yea? nay? under what conditions would you consider or use this?

I had 3 bucks respond to and audibly come into a blind grunting sequence last year during the rut, but never had a shot opportunity except on one that I didn't move quickly enough to catch.

I've also had other hunts grunt back which is funny whenever that happens...

I'm considering whether using the grunt call blind at all this year. so school me!

I took my brother in law out two weeks ago and blind called a nice 8 point in that he shot. I got the whole sequence on video. The sequence was a series of short grunts and using a branch to scrape the tree imitating a buck rubbing I called for a minute and twenty seconds with a tending grunt to finish the sequence. Had the buck at 20 yards in under two minutes. He was trying to come down wind but we were able to shoot him before he got us. I love to blind call but will usually try to get down and create ground noise with it or add scraping from the tree and thrash leaves.
