Anyone have a link for bolts or rods for tree steps they use on private ground? Any stores run good deals on bulk purchases? Also what size drill bit? I saw Jon E had a video and after looking for a while online i was unable to find the type of bit and bolts he uses. Looking to get some trees prepped this way on my private ground this summer.

I ordered some this week from https://www.treehopperllc.com

Mark sells bolts (coated and uncoated), drills, bits, and lots more. Also does bulk orders of bolts. Prices are as good or better than I could find anywhere online.

I haven’t received them yet because I also ordered a couple platforms that are back ordered, but I had some special requests and Mark was super helpful and responsive.

Treehopper for drill bit. Search function on here should yield something. Several threads with eBay links. I myself have bought a 50 pack from there. Don’t know if the links are still good but should give you an idea what to look for.

Mcmaster carr has tons of bolts and can be bought in quantity. Just have to do a little digging through their sight.

6” bolts on your eBay link, is the right, seems a little short

Edit: I stand corrected

Alfa Tools sells a auger bit that I have used for years.
#AUG 614373 it has a 1/4" hex drive and is self feeding.
You will need to add a stop collar to control your depth, they are available at McMaster Carr.
