I have also put about 160 miles a yr on them turkey hunting, probably 50 miles deer hunting, and 100hrs standing on a platform. They are by far the most comfortable waterproof boots I have ever owned. With that said, I have never owned a pair of high dollar boots like Crispi, or Solomon, but I don’t think I will ever buy anything else as long as I can find the Legacy’s.

They were the worst of the boots I tried when looking to upgrade. The toe crease dug into my foot, and frankly they didn’t seem as well put together as the others. It’s boots though, so about as individual as feet.

However, Meindl had fantastic customer service, and I could have been convinced to try some other models except I ended up with L&S boots and they are super comfortable and high quality. Cost 3x the Meindls and still, I wish L&S had a really lightweight early season boot and a more insulated late season boot.

Yea squatting they will crush your toes. But other than that they were the most comfortable to me. Probably because they had the largest toe box. I tried a few Crispi and got heel slip in them all and schnees fit all to narrow in the toe box for me.

I almost ordered Scarpa GTX Kinesis pro about 20 times but never pulled the trigger.
 
I have been super impressed so far with my oboz sawtooth boots. Ive already put some decent miles on them and they are water proof up to high ankle.
 
Well I got those Scarpa this evening. Very high quality boot, the bearing lacing is awesome and I want to love them. They are pretty tight around the ball of my foot. That has me pretty concerned. I absolutely struggle with boots.
 
Keep an eye out on classifieds sites like eBay, poshmark or mercari.

I have old Danner Pronghorns (very nice wide toe box) but they’re just about at the end of life.

Just picked up a set of Hanwag Ancash on poshmark, new with tags for $200. Very nice toebox like the pronghorns but cheaper than Danner brand new.

If you haven’t… try a pair of Lowa Tibet GTX wides, sizing is true, I’m on my 4th pair and each have fit exactly the same, I throw the insoles out and replace them with my own. German made boots will have a wider last compared to those made in Italy, real Meindl boots that are actually made in Germany fit me pretty good but Lowas are perfect, the wide version, and they have a lace lock feature so you can really adjust the fit with some messing around while breaking them in which usually doesn’t take long, and then your set. Granger’s wax for all my Lowas.

I have a pair I got from Cabalas long time ago I still have em but use em just as grass cutting stuff like that now or backups when muddy

Wherever I can get them the cheapest, I check periodically online for sales/promo codes, since I know my size already and Lowa's fit is consistent I have zero fear of problems or returning them, and stock up when I catch a sale.

How do they fit? True to size? How about width?

Yes true to size 100%, their wide is not crazy wide like snowshoes it’s perfect in my opinion, I wear an 11 wide, if you order a pair and the fit feels off mess with the laces first before giving up, once you have a pair you will understand what I mean, after you get them dialed in with the laces they will mold around your foot fast and you won’t have to do it again, the toe box is not huge but roomy, no heel slippage, great boots. $279 is about the cheapest I’ve ever paid if my memory is correct, they are dead nuts waterproof, I’m on my 4th pair so my sample size isn’t small, good luck!
