Bridge Material Question - Cordelette?

I just installed the short Jammy on my bridge using the girth hitch. It left just enough room to do a regular prusik.

Is your point about the jammy now being the weak link in the system whereas TRC would be about as strong if done correctly?

What length jammy is that? I'd put a few more wraps on the bridge and shorten even more, maybe. I might try that on my Cruzr XC (can't stop fiddling).

I don't think the jammy is any/much weaker than TRC. My gut feeling is that a prusik is stronger than a girth hitch because the part of the cord that crosses horizontally (crosses the wraps on the prusik) doesn't get as fully tight on the prusik because of the wraps grabbing. Just a hunch that would need to be tested.

It is the 35cm. I may try a couple more wraps if I can squeeze them on.

Maybe try putting the sewn area as the bridge, more useable cord for wraps.
