Anyone ever thought about using a Buck Squeeze for the bridge in conjunction with a saddle? seems like it would lower the bridge height not to mention increase safety? Some things in this video caught my attention:

I do use one sometimes when I’m climbing. Using it with the steps or sticks it will not catch you as fast because you have to leave a little more space. However, you’re not gonna fall

The Bucksqueeze is a great fall restraint. You just need to make sure to adjust it properly. If not you will slide down before it catches you.You could use your lineman’s belt as your secondary safety for crossing obstacles and be completely safe if you are using hooks to climb with.

Excellent video! I've been toying with the idea of a DIY buck squeeze. Wondering if there would be a way to use it as a tether too? Looks like you might could adjust it out enough so that you basically had a super long bridge that served as your tether?

I have not tried it but thinking about trying this tonight. I was thinking of passing the lineman's belt around as normal but passing one side through a prussic and sliding the prussic back sling the rope to get it some what tight.

Option 2 is to use a double prison with biners connections the 2 produce to the tree.

Option 3 would be seat belt webbing with an adjustments to come and connect to the saddle. Then in the center would be another adjustment to adjust for size of the tree. Obviously this would be a bit more difficult to make but I think it could also work as your teether.

I had to use one the last ten years or so before I retired from the power company. It will keep you from falling if you cut out but was a bit of a pain when climbing over obstacles. A climbing line and prussic/progress capture device are a lot less clunky and noisy in a tree.

I am as well if we can get a break from the rain. Found another post on here calling it a monkey tail...looks about the same.

I have a like new buck squeeze I’d sale If anyone is interested. Let me know

These are heavy and too noisy for hunting in my opinion. I am forced to use one at work.

I use my squeeze/lineman as a teather when we have a lot of snow on the trees. It weighs 1 lb but keeps me from sliding down if I gaff out. I have a tight eye on one end to thread through the rings but there are other ways to release the linesman.05671C06-E5A7-4B7C-A479-F1D8282BEA71.jpeg

I'd rather use my 2 in 1 tether, The buck squeeze works good for straight trees with no limbs but Id just use my climber for trees like that!
