Cable Aider Mod

Cheaper to buy them from lone wolf if you have to buy the swage tool. But hey, it’s a tool! I like tools, I want more tools! I’ll use it for other purposes.

1/8in Coated wire rope was $7 for 30ft
Stainless eyes were $2.80 from amazon.

I like them much better than a CAYG aider. No hassle, easy to climb, flex out and open off the tree for easy foot placement. Fold up on the stick for easy packing.

I ordered these eyelets from amazon and they worked great except that the eyelet diameter is too small for the bolts on my sticks. Any other options?

You need a swaging tool for wire rope. Electrical plier crimps probably won’t support much weight. I don’t even know what the swaging tool I have supports. I know there are different swaging tools. Do at your own risk and research.
I definitely was not gonna use the electrical crimps I was just asking if they were similar, but thank you!

Those were for 1/4 in bolts. I’m sure they make different size holes, but I didn’t search for them. I also had to put in a longer bolt to make up for the added thickness of the 2 eyelets.

I ordered the LWCG aiders. I'm hoping to attach them to my helium sticks. I tried webbing and I am hoping this will be easier to get my foot in. We'll see!
Update:
I attached them to the stand off bolt on my helium sticks. I had to get a longer bolt. I added washers over and under cable ends and also put a nylon nut as a jamb nut so that as I swivel them up for packing an down for climbing it can't loosen.

The bolt on the LWCG sticks is long enough, but they are 5/16” instead of 1/4”. Been looking for different eyes, but it seems like the only ones I can find are ridiculously expensive.

1/8” cable and 5/16” eye.

Just got the LWCG cable aiders in yesterday and put them on my mini sticks. Sooooo nice!

The cable aider mod works really well with the Shikars. I didn’t want to spend on the swaging tool so I bit the bullet and got the LWCG aiders. They pack up just as tight and I use the aiders to tie them together. Win win

I have beast sticks
Look like the lwcg aider comes with another nut
Is there enough room on the current Beast stick bolt for all that?
