Any certain carabiner out there that everybody is using and really likes? I have a couple of the carabiners from lone wolf that I have always used for my lineman's belt, as well as a couple of bulky locking carabiners. Just trying to make sure that I choose the right one when looking for something new. Thanks.

I just bought Petzl Spirits, they are very light and rated at 23 kn.
I have yet to try them out.

Do yourself a favor and get some auto locking from Wessor Treestuff. These are the ones that arborists use and they are tried and tested. Can't go wrong with Petzl, DMM, CT or Knotch to name a few.

There's a great website that list all the biners out by weight strength etc. Search it was just on here.

I prefer Black Diamond Rock Lock Screwgates. 1565021059113.pngThe larger size makes it easier to manipulate with these arthritic fingers. Especially in cold weather. I like a Wild Country Helium for a wire gate, especially when using Amsteel. The little hook on other biners, snags Amsteel. Heliums are a little more $ but eliminating the fiddle factor at 20 ft. is worth it.1565021166540.png

Do we have a rating on the HSS carabiners by any chance? I saw the pear-shaped HSS were rated at 5,600 lbs, but it’s the standard ones I’m curious about. I heard perhaps 3,400 lbs?

Black Diamond Rock Lock Twist Gates, but twist gates over screw gates are personal preference.
