Cheap Stuff that Gets the Job Done

They are JPG but I think its the wrong codec or something. Its a known problem with these and mac. Has nothing to do with SD card formatting or any of that. Its the tasco software on the device that saves them in an unreadable format that works fine on windows devices and mac software that supports that specific format (which does not include preview). I would like to find some software that I can just batch convert them to png or something to try and get around it

I use the dongle to read SD cards on my iPhone and it puts the pics directly into the Photos app and thus iCloud Photo. Will show up on your Mac after everything syncs back up. No switching out cards in the field and trying to keep track of which camera they were in. Instead, pull the card, upload to a folder for that specific cam location, delete or keep on card, put back in camera.

On the Walmart note, I got a pair of them Realtree-brand base layers for cold weather, cost $20 or less, my legs have never been warmer. Easily as warm as my $300 Sitka top base layer.

Yep. As long as it’s not cotton, all synthetic base layers are basically the same material and work the same.

The dongle does not load these photos on an iPhone either, I have a dongle and only the Tascos won’t register on it on an iPhone for me at least

My bow is about 20 years old and I'm starting to get concerned it might give up the ghost. But, I can't see myself shelling out for a new Matthews and have been keeping an eye on local pawnshops. I've also been looking at the Bear packages and could see myself getting one, and upgrading the attachments.

What quibbles do you have with it?
None really. It developed a bit of a click recently-pretty sure I need to lube the arm pockets? But to be honest, it clicks the first time I draw back for the day and then not again for days so I've just been drawing it back at the truck before I walk in.

Like I said, I am not nice to it, so that click is on me, not Bear. Otherwise it's a bit louder and has a bit more hand shock than the few 1-2k bows I've had the opportunity to shoot/see shot, but realistically when I "upgrade" it will be because of want, not need.

Funny isn't it. The only difference between them is the camo pattern and marketing. Contrary to what the Marketing Department says, there is no miracle fabric.

It works like gang busters for me.

Are you using the Photos app to import them? Send me a message if you want to walk through it off this thread. Be glad to help if I can!

$300 Sitka top base layer o_O Say what?
Xmas gift, got that fanatic hoodie when it first came out, it was like $250 plus tax. “Only” $200 now lol. It’s touted, and best used as, a base layer. Not quite $300 but still.

Ugh, that's painful. There unfortunately isn't a forehead slapping emoji on the forum, lol. Such an overrated garment. But not a base layer, a mid layer fleece as per Sitka.

I do use and like the Sitka Core Hwt (Never buy msrp). They are polyester and elastane with Polygiene. Walmart Realtree is 100% poly (odor resistant?). Elastane isn't necessarily a good thing. Polygiene is a step in the right direction.

Milspec polypro has advantages over both and can be found cheaper, but...pros and cons.

Yeah but in the same instructions they tell you it’s best used right in contact with the skin, which to me constitutes a base layer. Don’t get me wrong, it’s probably the only piece of clothing I wear on every sit after Halloween or so, but it’s highly overpriced and yet another item I’d never have if I weren’t related to a dentist who goes to Cabela’s before Xmas and says “I’m looking for a gift for a hunter, I have this much to spend”.

Does your dentist need any more relatives???

Surely I can find my way into the family here somehow

Keep an eye on Academy sports I bought both of my boys Bear bows RTH from there on sale at a great price.

Yep. I used to wait until they went on sale on Sierra Trading post and get synthetic base layers from hiking brands super cheap (hot chilis, aspen, etc). Remember when sales were common? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Anyways, this year I went to the cheapest Redhead synthetic base layers that have 4Most inhibit to keep the funk down. It actually works. I can wear a base layer 2 days and stick my nose right in the arm pit and no smell.

The Redhead brand goes on sale and even regular price is only slightly more than Walmart.

I hadn’t thought about this, but I love most other RedHead and Cabela’s brand stuff. I’ll be keeping me eyes peeled for post-season sales.

I usually wear a large in everything, but got medium in these so they would be against the skin. I have the light and mid weights.

The only thing that couldn't be medium was the mid weight bottoms because that weight doesn't stretch that much, had to go large. Just fyi on sizing....pretty true to size.

That’s actually a huge help because I have to shop in the same section as Gimli, son of Gloin (if you catch that softball of a nerd reference).
Thank you!

If you run cams, agree a good SD dongle is a must… many times buddies have headed into an area with no ability to check what’s on the cards, drives me nuts.
