Think i want to try some sticks this year for a movie set up. Which do you guys recommend? Helium, xop, muddy, or LW?

On a side note, if anybody has an extra ameristep strap with flat hook laying around....

The heliums are the hot thing on the market now, and they do look pretty nice. I was fingering some in Bass Pro yesterday.

But, the lone wolf sticks are the standard by which all others are judged, and can be found pretty regularly for a good price on the classifieds. Sometimes already stealth-stripped and rope-modded. There's also a fella on her machining double steps for them, if that sort of thing totes your goats.

I had lone wolf stick and liked them, but ultimately went with more packable options.

The heliums are $99 from Cabelas right now free shipping. I got next day air for free. Not sure if that was a glitch in their system or not :sob::sob:

If you go heliums I recommend cutting them down. Lots of people including myself also recommend the rope mod. Some prefer the stock buckle. No mods are necessary for the sticks but the full length ones can be cumbersome to carry. If needed for immediate use, save the mods for the off-season. These are the only sticks i've used so can't compare em

I used LW sticks for years and like them a lot. Then I used Heliums and like them even more because of the double step. I cut mine down and did the versa button rope mod and now they are light, compact and pretty awesome. You can't beat the $99 price tag either. I would say get a set of those, try them out un-modified and then decide if you want to do the mods...

I have both lonewolf and helium sticks . I didn't cut my helium sticks down I like the length. You can't go wrong either way.

Really like the idea of no buckles or hooks with the rope mod, and would probably stealth strip immediately since i already have some just waiting to be stuck on something

Lonewolf. They were out of stock last time I check but that was a while ago. I order 3 versa buttons and 3 straps and got them within 3 days. So as long as they're in stock you should be ok.

I ordered a set of API hunt n sticks from bass pro they are on sale for $79.99 and I used code 10OFF to get another 10% off.

Got em stealth stripped, painted the buckles with plasti dip. think Imma give the stock straps a try b4 doing any mods, some cam buckle & straps are a pain but these seem to be pretty good.

couldn't get pics to post, says they are too big but lightroom won't reduce them any smaller
