A member PM'd me and asked if there were any analytics available for the contest teams. Well, it was a good question. For what it's worth I put together what I could given the information that the individual contestants are comfortable sharing on the site. Points referenced are through post 51 in t submission thread.

Wow we are all extremely middle aged!

If anyone's interested here is the breakdown of deer entered so far in this years contest versus last years. We're obviously lagging last years kill count a bit but we do have five 11 pointers entered this year (that's real 11 point bucks, not those with two 1's side by side :tearsofjoy:).

Added in the 2019 data.

How do the number of participants vary between those three years?

edit: in other words what are the average number of points per hunter over the past three years?

2019 - 216 Contestants (16 teams by 13 or 14)
2020 - 182 Contestants (13 teams x 14)
2021 - 168 Contestants (14 teams x 12)

If my numbers are correct there were 1549 points scored in 2019 for an average of 7.2 points per hunter. There were 1306 points scored in 2020 for an average of 7.2 points per hunter. There have been 964 points scored so far this year for an average of 5.7 points per hunter.

I wasn't able to find the total number of deer submitted in 2019 but, I believe there were 167 deer submitted in 2020 for an average of 0.93 deer per hunter and there has been 124 deer submitted so far this year for an average of 0.73 deer per hunter.

Either way you cut it, it looks like we have some ground to make up this year.

I do find it interesting that in 2019 and 2020 the average number of points per hunter were almost identical (they averages were within 0.005 points per hunter)

To finish up your computations here @GCTerpfan, there were 202 deer submitted in 2019. That comes out to an average deer/hunter of .935.

I think that makes 2019 and 2020 pretty statistically equal. That is except for the fact that 2020 Team 5 put a MASSIVE 167 points on the board:smiley:, 24 more than the previous all time best. Way to go Team 5 of 2020!
