Decent point, but often as I am moving around the tree just to keep loose, I sometimes put my foot (ROS) below the hanging bow. When I have had it hanging downwards, I have imagined it be possible that it could go and off and possible hit me in the foot/leg. Aimed upwards would not hit me. Hanging downwards does raise into your shoulder nicely however.

I hang my bow pointing up. For two reasons.
A) using the stirrup is easy
B) I want the bolt seated properly against the string

I know there is a tongue that holds the bolt in place but it doesn’t offer much resistance. I don’t think it was intended to constantly oppose gravity. I’m worried the bolt may slide slightly out of position if I hang it pointed at the ground.

$ answer @fawnzy ! That is the number one reason you should hang them pointing up. The nocks on xbows do not lock onto the string and they can easily move away from the string, even with the tension clip, which, has and can lead to the string going around the nock and dry firing.

Good point about hanging down if your nocks don't lock on. But some crossbows do lock on for sure. I've owned 3 Ravins and they all lock on. It takes quite a bit of force to pull them off. I hang them down all the time, no issue.

Either way works with the mini, def pointing down seems a lot safe in the event of a drop/unexpected fire
