I wasn't really happy with any method of carrying my set of 5 lone wolf sticks in so I decided to make this custom bag. The pouch on the bottom contains my strap on step platform. I bought a 75 dollar sewing machine so I could custom make stuff like this. My handiwork could look a little nicer but its very functional! Not bad for my first big project with the sewing machine.

I thought you would like that. Hopefully it works as good in the woods as it has in testing.

Good on ya! I like to make my gear, too. Yes, I also sew. You can make all kinds of useful stuff if you can sew. If you get a leather sewing awl tool, you can put together thicker materials like leather and canvas. The straps I use for my top platform are made from strap I got in bulk at Strapworks.com and ratchets from them that I sewed on. I'll start taking pics of my stuff so you can see :D

Nice! That bag didn't work as good as I had hoped, but it was a good project. I do have an awl, the speedy stitch sewing awl. You will probably see in some other posts I have made a custom tree strap and I've also modified the straps for my platform.

I've toyed around with the idea of making one as well. For now, my universal carry strap from Strapworks is cutting the mustard. I think I'll eventually craft something out of an old alice frame and molle straps.

I picked up a molle frame that i've been using for the sticks and it works great. It works better than my bag because I needed to get the sticks out off my back a little. I'm still trying to find a way to attach my backpack or build one on and strap my bow to it so everything is on my back. I tinkered a little bit but haven't had the time to work on that part in weeks. It will become an off season project at this point.

I may just pick up an Eberlestock X2. That little pack can do everything.

I have a tenzing 2220 it also has a bow/rifle boot. And lots of straps for compression or hooking other gear up to your bag. I have strapped for Lonewolf sticks to the bottom of the bag and also a jacket to the top part. It is really nice when hauling a rifle or ball in the boot. It works really really well. The bag is made well and I have zero complaints with it this season.

I've had two Eberlestock packs (Halftrack and Just One) in the past and those things were absolutely bomb proof. Once I left CO I sold the packs. I think I'd have a hard time buying anything other than an Eberlestock. Another option is a Mystery Ranch. I bought a MR Crewcab and Nice frame setup but sold it too. The MR longbow looks pretty slick. I'm a sucker for expensive, bomb proof packs.

I also tried the bag and it didn't work for me either. I was looking for a way to go up the tree just once and hunt. I found it hard to get them out of the bag quietly without snagging the cloth. I now use a strap I made like the one from strap works and found this covered wire made by Hawk tree stands at the wally world for $3 to hold the two extra sticks as I go up then pull up the bow and pack with a gear grappler.
